To be honest that's why I left it, it was hardly unprovoked. If you want to bitch go to the banter board. You can kick lumps out of each other on there.

Blue, thanks for voice of reason mate. Iv tried these past few days to get him to be a little friendlier, but iys fallen on deaf ears. Which, in time, will stop people posting here, which would be a shame as you have some great threads going.

I don't go on there for that very reason. We can get some good debate going with many Swans fans on open, honest threads, and have some sensible banter in the mean time. If people want to go beyond that then the "other place" is where they need to go.

As JJA says, when it goes beyond sensible thats the time posters leave, rarely to return. Not something we want.

Lets not over-react either though. John did have a little dig, and was told not to be a cock. End of. Lets move on.

As if to illustrate my point, finished typing the above sentence I heard loads of sirens in my quiet cul-de-sac, ran to the window and saw a house on fire. As if to reiterate UniBluebirds point.

Let's remember we're talking about a game here.

    ^^^^^^^^ This

I't's a major factor why I don't post anymore on here. Totally pissed off with the constant Cardiff/Swansea slagging that creeps onto decent threads.

I have to say it's mainly instigated by JH, though there're enough Swansea onlookers on this club's board to make his day by responding.

Banter is one thing and is all part of a forum like this, but FFS John, give it a rest.

I only read these days rather than contributing, and even my interest in that is waning.

Maybe when the season starts it'll be different - perhaps I'll pop in and have a look then.

    Cheers guys. <ok>

Sparkey, I have the utmost respect for your opinions. It's posters like you we need to keep.

I can step up the Moderation, I try to take a hands off approach as I don't want a rep for being the forum equivalent of China or N Korea but if you guys want it stepped up, then it's my role to do so.

It's a fine line though, specifically on this thread JH didn't actually say anything directly offensive to anyone. I thought it was quite a measured dig from him for a change.

Have to admit Ash, I've admired your perseverance on this one but always felt your efforts would be in vein <ok>

We only have to look at Sheep's list on last seasons prediction league to see those who no longer post. I'd bet money for some its because of the reasons Sparkey mentioned above (good to see btw Sparks <ok>)

We've all been guilty to a degree from time to time but we all know the main instigators. Personally, If they cant/wont change, I'd like to see their butts kicked into touch or this board wont last another season.

    Just my opinion <ok>

    H, I'm persitent mate. Lol.

John. This is the Cardiff board, correct. But, as your rivals/fellow Welshmen, wouldn't it be great if we could get along once in a while? Of course, there will always be banter, that's what makes it fun. But, take the GB thread for instance, isn't it refreshing to see Cardiff and Swansea fans both discussing our Welsh players? Admit it, it is.

Sadly, because of your past comments, we knew that your message about yours and Wrexhams support was a dig at us Swans fans. Don't deny it.

I reckon you could be a laugh John, I lol'd at your comments aimed at the Gas fan. But then in an instance, your turned on my with the "***ash" comments, for no reason. Think you just need to be pleasent a bit more often.

    Just my opinion.

I think JH was being provocative with his initial posting and he knew some swans would bite. I think that some of the swans reactions were a bit harsh but in all honesty to be expected given JHs form.
I think for the sake of all parties involved, as the "mod" said, keep it to the banter board for the stronger stuff (all posters) and respond accordingly to the mild digs such as the comment about omitting Swansea from the folks who support Wales. A bit of self regulation won't go amiss will it guys?

"mod" inserted because PontprennauBluebird is such a long name, not a dig. I know I just typed PontprennauBluebird there and stated PontprennauBluebird was a long name. So instead of typing PontprennauBluebird every time I refer to PontprennauBluebird I will refer in future to PontprennauBluebird as the "mod". is that okay with you PontprennauBluebird ? I hope so coz it's taken an age to type this :)

I was considering a name change as it takes ages to login with such a long name.

I may do if inspired with a new name.

John, I don't think what you said was that bad, but it's the constant nature of it. People are getting bored of it, and it's affecting the board. I think you need to take a bit of responsibility for it and be a little less mischevious on certain threads.

There is a specific thread for you to vent on, use it.

I'm feeling guilty for takiing this thread off course. It was never my intention and infact, the exact opposite was what I was aiming for. So I apologise to the author for my part in derailing what should have been a great discussion.

Back on track, as said earlier, it's been great to see how well the two teams have done, and while the success could be the catalyst for Welsh success in the men's game, the women's tournament has highlighted that Wales is a little behind. However, this is a situation that is being addressed, and great strides are being made to develop zand improve the game for women in Wales.

I was dubious about Team GB to start with, but it has been hugely influencial in Cardiff and I'm sure that the Welsh players and public will have a change in attitude to their national team now that they've seen a sample of what we can field these days. Let's hope that Welsh pride enjoys a big comeback for both our male and female footballers.

John i find it very odd that you are banging on about Team GB ,and then looking forward to some internationals at the CCS, personally i have boycotted it because it is a risk to the Welsh national side, in a few years we may not have a national team to support, it will be TEAM GB permanently. and then you can go to Wembley stadium to watch home games.

    Good evening Mabs.
Nolthing but respect for your deeply held point of view, and as I alluded to earlier, I had similar fears about Team GB. However, far from increasing my fears, I have been delighted to hear how well people are talking about Welsh players and how they are the basis of what could be a very competetive international team. I see the Olympics as being instrumental in raising the profile of the game in Wales and, the tournament has lifted the spirits of supporters in Wales.

I think it would take a huge constitutional change for us to lose our status as an international team in our own right, and let's not forget that England would deeply resent being forced into partnership with the other home countries.

To my mind, the Olympics have sparked an extra dimension in the Welsh players and their positive experience on this worldwide stage will motivate them in their efforts for Wales.

I can assure you, that if I wasn't seeing so many positives for Wales, I too would be pretty disgruntled by Team GB.

Evening clingo how are you sir

I am more concerned about the african and america's to be honest with you ,i have followed this since the games were announced in 2005, A Mr David Wills has consistantly told the british fa's to go nowhere this team and as a former fifa vice president he had the ear and is much respected by many of the power brokers within world football,

I don't trust fifa or blatter if i am honest clingo, and i just wonder how many of our lads would have been involved had england failed to reach the euro finals, but i agree you raise many positive points in your last response much respect for those clingo<ok>

Lets hope they all come back fit for the World Cup qualifiers<ok>

Jack Butland is English. Born in Bristol.

    Hes only 19.

Think you may have him mixed up with someone else.

I don't think I am. I was chatting with a couple of the football lads when it was on the other night, and they recall him being born in Brecon and playing for them. I'll look into it as I'm curious now lol.
