I think Gerrard still has a lot to offer the team but I think his stance at the club is a bit of a problem. When he is on the pitch everyone (bar Suarez) looks for him to make the difference but he can't do it anymore, he'll still pull out the odd game here and there (see the hat-trick against Everton last season) but not on a consistent basis. I think if he was to leave (not saying he should) it would have an impact on the rest of the side in a similar way to Henry leaving Arsenal, the rest of the squad stepped up and took responsibility
wow the yank commentator is annoying, had to switch streams just now and they pissed me off after a few seconds
Good response but I was just taking the piss with he is ****, so then he will go and score a hat-trick.
Keep off Lucas EDIT: Gomel have tried so so hard here, really doing themselves credit. Fantastic work rate, attitude, bravery.
Borini played clean through but his shot is well smothered by the keeper. His movement is good - very bright and very lively off the ball, always moving. Not had a real chance yet. Final whistle - job done, however laboured. Hostile atmosphere, underdog attitude from Gomel, unfit players vs fit opposition, first game back for many, missing players... I'll take that.
Wasnt the most inspiring performance (by far), but we still won, so ill take it. Hoped to see more of Borini though, he was hardly involved, though that wasnt really his fault
