The clock is ticking, and we've only sign two younguns. They both looking promising, but so do Sammy and Abeid, and I wouldn't want to rely on them right now for much quality.

Even if we do sign a few players over the next couple of weeks, they'll only have a small amount of time to get used to the place and get to know their team mates ect before next season kicks off.

Debuchy looks like it isn't happening. We're stuck with deals for strikers, and Anita will be a tough deal.

I suppose if we do make late signings, we already have enough to get through the first month or so, seeing as it's only the play-off Europa League ties early on, but still, I'd have liked to have seen at least one quality signing by now.

No disrespect to Bigi and Amal.

Yeah, A few for the future isn't going to make me optimistic for the season ahead! I am glad we've held on to all our key players but if you don't strengthen your weakest areas then you cant move forward! Despite this a plus is Marv will be like a new signing and im looking forward to seeing him play!

Imagine if we don't get a Right back in at all, how stupid the idiots that said we should get shot of Simmo fast will feel?

I never felt the need to sell him, and I hope we can agree a deal with him.

This window was all about holding onto our current crop for me.

We've sold no one important and brought in three youngsters to replace our free transfers.

There's a month left so I am not worried in the slightest, look at all the other clubs who haven't spent big.

yeah but giving the choice would you not rather a new RB in aswell? I wouldnt be angry with Simpson still being at RB next season but would be disappointed a tad, as i personally, with a fully fit squad (playing 4-3-3), see him as a weak link! I know people will say Ba (despite him being our top scorer) but I think Marv would be better suited there on the advanced LW role IMO! So it wouldnt be the worst situation in the world with simmo at RB but i'd prefer someone with more quality!

Of Course. I've always said we should try to aim higher than Simmo, but selling him wont solve the depth issues.

What some people don't understand is that we need to increase the size of our squad, not just get rid of players and swap them for better ones.

Simmo was never consistently a weak link last season. 95% of his bad games were the games where when were **** as a team in total.

I hated it when after a **** defeat, people picked on Simmo, it wasn't fair.

And people have to remember, Simmo never had a right mid in front of him with any defensive quality, apart from Raylor in a few games, but he never had the pace to track back when he went to attack, which lead to Simmo being by himself, and also getting caught out as we relied on him for overlapping runs!

But most of the time, he had Obertan and HBA In front of him, both of which are **** defensively, where as whoever played as our left back, had Jonas in front of him and Coloccini to the right of him.

Santon wouldn't have lasted a second when he first came here, if we hadn't have Colo and Jonas around him.

Yet we all ****ed over his attacking qualities, whilst not many gave Simmo any credit, and blasted him, despite having Willo, Obertan and HBA as support for most of the season.

Yeah I dont want rid of simmo, he can even cover CB if the situation is (very) dire! He'd be a great 2nd choice RB its just he offers very little except his pace going forward and I think Perch can do an equally as good job defensivly judging on the from he showed the latter end of last season. Shame he's not a LB with Colo and Jonas helping him out he probably wouldnt get caught out with his mistakes!

    XD

Hopefully he'll never played at CB again. Hopefully we'll have Douglas in, which means we'll have Douglas, Saylor and Willo as our strong CB's, and Colo, Perch and Tav as our quicker, more skillful CB's :p

I think the signings we've made so far have looked pretty Good *cough*missed one*cough*

But I agree, we need 2 or 3 more players to cope next year, and players who can fight consistently for first team places, and are not necesserily considered backup players, but simply alternatives.

Yep he's as much use as a Magikarp there!!!! I Like the sound of Douglas but i don't like the attitude he has, we should have really signed Thiago Silva!

We also signed Curtis Good from Australia who is a Cb although i don't think he's ready to challenge for first team football yet.

Aye not quite there yet but if he settles in he'll be up for a few cup appearances if we get an 'easy' ties.

He's going to be playing a Fitz Hall role of sorts, passable if we have injuries but not expected to be a regular.
