I might take a chance on Nehaam in the 3:15. Found 2m4f too much on good to soft and struggled to last home in the Ascot Gold Cup, 2m more his optimum trip. Finished a short head behind Colour Vision over 2m at Ascot when conceding 11lbs, now getting 4lb. I like the look of Saddlers Rock but will take the chance on Nehaam at BP 16/1, might put a bit on a SF Colour Vision and Nehaam as well as the each way bet on Nehaam
I've had an e/w dabble on Sailors Warn in the Galway Hurdle. Edward O'Grady's 5 year old gelding ran some really decent races last term, finishing within spitting distance of Steps To Freedom, Unaccompanied, Raya Star, Zarkandar and Alderwood (beaten a lengths 3rd in the Vincent O'Brien County Hurdle). He has had a couple of spins on the flat so should be well primed for this today. Clearly this is a very competitive race but I think he may have some improvement left in him (still only a 5YO) and he won a Grade 2 juvenile hurdle on soft/heavy so clearly goes on the ground.
I notice Allerford Jack is racing again at Stratford today. Has a 12lb penalty but Michael Nolan takes off 7lbs so could be very hard to beat today if three runs in just over a week isnt too much
Two for me in the Galway Hurdle are Sailors Warn 14/1 & Rebel Fitz 15/2 Also like Ruscello 8/1 in the last at Goodwood.
afternoon - Prussian in the first at Goodwood and Living the Life in the 4-20. I don't mean to offend any of our horse lovers on here but dressage has to be one of the most bizarre spectator sports around. That said, the level of skill is unreal.
Ron - you are making stats up now WROTHAM HEATH will go close in the first today if settling better I have no doubt that he is the best horse in that field excluding the Godolphin horse who could yet be anything. 9/1 is a good price for WH
Are you on the Hill horse this afternoon Quel. Let us down badly when I tipped it last time but they think it could make amends today. Halved in price overnight and yard on fire!
No, i totally forgot about it. I'LL BE ON NOW THOUGH! Hang on - i've forgotten it's sodding name! A Bid Too Far?
Decent bet on Dazzling Suzie here- hopefully will make all. Ran alright Jeff travelled in to it well but didn't find much for pressure. Not sure where he ended up because was focusing on the finish - wasn't too far down the field though I don't think. No good to me though haha
