Looking at the game last night between Team GB and Uruguay it was clear to see that Joe Allen has some talent. I'll be honest I haven't seen enough of the guy to make up a solid decision on whether or not he will be good for us but he's worked under Rodgers before so I trust Rodgers. Anyway that is supposed to be a near enough done deal..I was more interested to see Gaston Ramirez and to quote Ray Wilkins ''my word'' he has talent and potential. I'd love it if we sign him he would suit us quite well and we desperately need more options on the wings.

Other players that impressed me last night was Jack Butland, we're rumoured to be in for him and I wish that is true because he's going to be a top keeper and lets face it Reina won't be here forever and the fact that our backup keepers are just not good enough.

In a way I'm glad that Uruguay are out so Suarez can come back in one piece, also how good was Bellamy last night? We would be stupid if we let him go, yes he's not the youngest and he's got his injury problems but he would be a fantastic impact player and last season he had a good season imo.

So what do you guys think of these players and who would you like us to sign before the transfer window closes?

I've said on many occasions I'd like us to sign Allen, other than him I would like us to sign another forward. It looks like Dempsey is pushing for a move but we can't spend a lot on a player of his age.

To be honest i'm more concerned about who will be leaving than who will be coming in. Bellamy, Carroll, Aquilani (not so much), Agger will put a big dent in our squad.

I have got a feeling that someone is being lined up who we will be very happy with, hope it is Ramirez <ok>

true, ramirez strikes me as needing a very set type of position to get the best out of him.. like a patrick berger.

Butland looks ok but like say kirkland and carson before him he needs to develop but out back up keepers are indeed very poor.

Allen looked ok, not sure thier mdifieldwas up to much given how they played v senegal as well. we'll see.

Bellamy was good but for us won't play that wide. I'd not let him go unless we get better in and i have not seen the deal happen yet... the cardiff link is also paper talk right now.

I'd like us to sign alonso, messi and higuin before the transfer window closes but reality and dreams are not the same thing.

Allen, Dempsey and Gaitan/Ramires would do me fine.

    Other transfers based on outgoings.

two taxi drivers... sounds like theres a bit of competition to drive bellamy back to LFC rahter than to hold onto him after team GB knacker him totally.

Imagine how good it would have been if Rafa had have had the funds to buy the players he wanted - Silva, Villa, Aguero :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Allen impressed me yesterday, a real battler in midfield (ala Lucas) but has the composure and technique to play the ball. I think he and Lucas can form a formidable partnership.

Not too sure on Ramirez - doesn't really have a lot of pace and seems a little lazy (BR likes a fast pressing game). He definately has an awesome left foot on him though.

I can Dempsey coming in as well - a fairly cheap option who will provide good experience, goals, assists and will work hard.

If Carroll goes, then I can see another striker coming in .

I'm old enough to know not to do exactly that <ok>

I've seem him play a fair few times, last night wasn't the first, but for the price that Napoli will expect for him, we as supporters will expect a lot more than what he offers, this is of course, from what I've seen. Now I ain't taking away the fact he's a good player, but for the price that he'll go for, I do expect a lot more <ok>

    reina
    johnson skertl agger enrique
    gerrard lucas allen
    borini suarez ramirez

is this what people are imagining?

we're 30mil away from that team right now.

we've henderson and shelvey and adam for allen's slot and peoplekeep saying dempsey for GR but we've pacheco, sterling, downing and suso all wanting a chance let alone carroll.

    i get the feeling we'll need to sell aquilani and carroll to fund these two buys and if that is the case then (assume best case 7 mil for aqua and 20 mil for andy) we'd have;

    in:
    borini 11mil
    allen 15mil (or whatever)
    GR 20mil

    = 46mil

    out:
    kuyt 1-2mil
    maxi 0
    carroll 20mil
    aquilani 7mil
    = 29mil?

    17mil net spend. who knows.
