Just becuase you play with a big man upfront doesnt mean you have to play long ball. The amount of times we just hoofed it to Helguson or Zamora last year were ridiculous. Hopefully it will make us play on the floor more if HH leaves. Target men are a thing of the past, look at Spain and Brazil.

Do we dominate teams the way Spain or Brazil do?

Obviously not but I dont see why you think that we would have to "change tactics" if Zamora or HH dont play. What do you think Hughes tactics are? Cisse and Defoe, or Cisse and Berbatov, AJ and BZ, whoever? Its all about movement and quality.

Hughes wont play Cisse and defoe or Cisse and Berbetov. He uses a target man to relieve pressure from the back, without that target man we will be face with either giving the ball to their defenders or losing it in a dangerous area at the back. So youd still clear it long to players who cant win a header?

This conversation is pointless. What I am saying is you dont need an old school target man any more. Cisse can hold the ball up just as good as anyone.

    Really?

Theres a huge difference in holding onto a ball played to feet from midfield and battling a 50-50 high ball hit long from defence.

Holding onto the ball and being a target man are 2 different things. For example Taarabt is great at holding the ball up.

Can't Betty go back to Cardiff instead of losing HH? Before his injury he did quite well in the Premiership, much better than I'd imagined he would do. I would rather keep him than any of Hulse, Bothroyd, DJ or Tommy.

Ok lets keep HH and play Championship football. Or even better buy Emile Heskey, he's a good target man!

Championship football? Hughes got Blackburn and Fulham into Europe playing that kind of football.

He had Zamora and RSC as his target men.

Debate over he's gone! Good luck HH and thanks for some great performances!

@IJTaylor81: Heidar Helguson has joined Cardiff City on a one-year deal, after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the Icelandic front-man #QPR
