True, but he'd kept us in front with 3 or 4 first class saves prior to that, plus showing a great command of his area and pretty good distribution.
who does Turner play for, the guy can fly. Looking forward to us playing with some pace now we have Clyne
I actually sort of like Bellamy as a footballer. He always gives 100%, and when he's on top form he's been a cracking striker. Trouble is, he wears his heart on his sleeve and he doesn't suffer idiots or fakers well, which has found him playing in teams of lower quality than he is undoubtedly capable of, down through the years.
Taylor? Plays for Swansea. Being Welsh and playing for Swansea, he hasn't had the publicity he deserves. Looked useful tonight.
All credit to Birmingham for holding fast despite a rather pressing need for funds; they could end up getting double what we were offering.
Can't believe I'm reading this! I was at the game and he was probably our best player in the first half (along with Bellamy and Allen). Cleverly seems to be growing into the tournament which is encouraging. I would have brought Cork on earlier to help retain possession towards the end, but overall very enjoyable. Can't believe Sturridge missed that tap-in though. Good to see a Southampton flag at one point too, anyone know whose that was?
Not been over impressed with the mens team up till now, but thought they were showing signs of turning into a team last night. Their passing has improved which I think is down to getting familiar with their team mates. Without big stars, this is a chance for these players to show what they can do without real expectations on them. A bronze perhaps?
Still a bronze medal will be great for a team cobbled together from two of the home unions and without Wales top player who would rather play for Spurs in some friendlies despite a ficticous back injury Well done to Pearcy and the who squad Be a great boost to Corkies season having potentially already got a bronze medal in his pocket before kicking a ball for Saints - I would be made up for the lad!
