The site I use has him playing - RM 11 times, LM 7 times, RA twice, LA once, OM twice and DM 6 times with 6 unknowns, so you could be correct. http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/santi-cazorla/leistungsdaten/spieler_15799_2011.html He also, like many Spanish players, doesn't always play as a British winger, but more as an inside forward.
I use WhoScored.com. It's very good to see the positions played and it also shows many stats. All though, I'm not to confident on basing my arguments on stats, but they can give a good indication of how good a player is in a consistent league, like La Liga. Just take a look at this, it is a list of the best players in La Liga ranked statistically. Take a look where Santi Cazorla is. http://www.whoscored.com/Regions/20...5577/PlayerStatistics/Spain-La-Liga-2011-2012 Now, as I said, I try not to base my arguments on stats, but when they are that good compared to others, you know they have some substance; but I did watch Malaga quite a lot last season as well, and Cazorla is certainly what I would call a world class player.
While you may even on the rarest occasions be right (broken clock and all), the way you conduct yourself one every bloody thread so make me think knob. Firstly Carzola is a very good player, he is however not world class. I would happily take Mata or Silva over him. I would love for him to join us but I would take a fit and firing Arshavin over him down the middle. He is good but stop acting like he will be our saviour.
And you wonder why I conduct my self in such a way, when people like you, say stupid things like "I would take a fit and firing Arshavin over him down the middle.". It's absurd.
I would argue that Mata is not world class if you think Cazorla isn't. Whist you might take Silva, the fact that Mata can't really make the Spanish squad and Cazorla can, makes your point of view a little strange. Suggesting Arshavin at 31 is better, is even more bizarre.
Although the Zlatan can come across as a bell end he is in fact right on this occasion. Carzorla is World Class. Better than Nasri and just as good as Silva.
I think people are underestimating just how well Arteta and Cazorla will work together as they both have the ability to dictate the pace of the game; Arteta in a deeper role and Cazorla in a more attacking role.
David Silva and Villa were already starting XI quality for Spain long before they left Valencia. Carzorla is a great player but there's a reason he has Silva, Iniesta, Mata, Villa and Pedro ahead of him for the wing places... In the qualifiers for 2010 Albert Riera played on the wing also. Still, he's matured since then and it'd be great to see him in the PL Will fit Arsenal's style like a glove.
we have to take into account a settling in period for Cazorla (if he signs), i've seen far too many people expecting instant miracles. it took Silva acouple of months to settle at citeh, and he's better than Cazorla.
He is not 'world class' but is very very good, surely to be world class you have to be say in the top 11 or maybe 18 in the world, that is not Cazorla. I would say he is just as good as Mata if not slightly better, but not on Silva's level and never will be. His style of play means he should adapt to Arsenal fairly quickly and fit the system perfectly, Arsenal will provide some exquisite football next season and I cannot see them finishing lower than third, especially if your transfer window continues the way it has been going. I still think you need to shore up your defence and could do with someone in midfield doing all the dirty work to give what I view as a dodgy defence some help, but I have seen you constantly linked with M'villa, Moussa Sissokho (sp?), Aly Cissokho, Sakho, Sahin, etc. this can only bode well for you. If you do lose RVP then I hope he moves league because I know the feeling of one of your star players moving to a rival is horrible (Ladyboy). I hope Arsenal have a good season, always enjoy watching you play, peace.
I don't know how whoscored do their ratings, but Cazorla is in their team of the season based on ratings. Borussia M.Gladbach M. ter Stegen 7.1 Borussia Dortmund L. Piszczek 7.3 Juventus G. Chiellini 7.6 Inter Lucio 7.3 Real Madrid Marcelo 7.3 Malaga S. Cazorla 7.6 Juventus A. Pirlo 7.9 Barcelona Xavi 7.8 Real Madrid C. Ronaldo 8.4 Barcelona L. Messi 8.9 AC Mila Z. Ibrahimovic 8.2 The team was done when last season was over. Now you can claim a bias in the stats or anything you like, but if I was named in that group, then I'd be telling everyone that I was world class, and screw what the people on not606 thought.
Good stats and he is a good player, but just a question based on these stats are we also suggesting that M Ter Stegen is the best goalkeeper in the world?
Yeah this is a good point, what's the bets RVP wants to change his mind about leaving when he sees Santi Carzorla and perhaps Nuri Sahin come in. That would mean 4 Quality international additions to a squad that finished 3rd.
No it is definitely possible, he is a very good young goalkeeper, and I am surprised that there is not more interest in him from around Europe, but currently I think he would still only be in the top 10 and behind the likes of Casillas, Neuer, Hart, Buffon etc
Not to take anything away from cazorla but whoscored ratings are a popularity contest. Remember Verm getting a 7.8 in a game where he set up 2 goals for the opposition, basically. Sent from a mobile device.
As I said, I am not basing my opinions on stats, basically for reasons like that, but they can give a good indication for a consistent player in a consistent league, which is Cazorla. I think a lot of people are really underestimating this, in my opinion, he is probably the best player outside of the Real Madrid and Barcelona in La Liga, and as I said in the OP, to get him for anything less than £35 million is day light robbery. Some of you should stop worrying about how good he is if you haven't seen him play regularly, and take the opinions of the members who have, I have seen him play many times, and I can confirm that he is a world class player. It's not often that we sign a player approaching his peak, for such a hefty fee that is also world class, enjoy the aesthetics of the transfer for the time being, don't start questioning it, and wait for him to show you his worth next season. If he signs, of course.
