Pinched from RTG but a real eye opener imo.

How is that stat useable? It proves he can finish, but that's an alarmingly small number of chances created. And even the most juvenile of football supporters knows that lack of chances is as much down to a striker's movement as it is down to his team mates assisting abilities.

Are you serious? Are you REALLY suggesting a "better" striker would have filled his boots in that Wolves team? One thing to express an opinion (even a dodgy one like that), but it's a bit patronising to suggest that any dissent from your point of view would be "juvenile". The point of the post is that he converts the chances that come his way. Yes, players can help create chances with movement, but it doesn't help if the players around you are not reacting to that movement, or simply not accurate with their final pass. That Wolves team was a shambles after McCarthy was sacked and Van Persie would have suffered in it, never mind anyone else.

It's usable on a Sunderland board if Sunderland fans deem it to be usable. If you don't like that, do one.

    Well said. Man's a clown.

But it's true, not saying the stat is wrong but it's ambiguous as there could be a number of reasons for such stats. These are facts.

That's embarrassing. You're told you're wrong so you imply incestuous *****philia.

Leave that for when you and Cest bicker over nothing.

Aye, but it's a fact that he played in that Wolves team too. And the stat may just show that he has a cool head in front of goal. That is pretty much what we need, as we have players to get the ball to him right now. Actually, we need a couple of strikers if the truth be told...

Just thought id add, he actually scored 12 league goals last year. He's worth 10-12m if Wolves ask for more they are blatantly taking the piss

That table is still very misleading though.

For me a clear cut chance is getting past the last defender, and getting a shot on target, thats all this is, its not converting his chances into goals, its a clear cut chance and getting a shot away that is on target, even if the keeper saves it.

Look at adebayor in 2nd place, he scored 13 times, he had 34 clear cut chances of which 13 was a clear cut shot and 21 was a clear cut miss (I presume thats what that stands for).

so 13 CCS of 34 CCC is 38%

its got nowt to do with the goals they scored. just the clear cut chances they made for themselves, and the chances from those that they hit the target with.

PS: according to espn he scored 12 league goals, but i just went through the entire league season for wolves and counted 10 so huh.

I know where you're coming from, but statistically Danny SImpson is the best rb in the league. I just think it's obscure to pull up loads of different rations, chances created, minutes per goals, who they play for etc etc etc. Surely best to just look at how many goals a player can get per game, as that is what they will ultimately be judged on, not their chance conversion rate. And I think for 12m you can get a 15 goal striker without too much difficulty, ie Defoe. (please don;t ask me to start reeling off suggestions either, I'm not paid to travel the world looking like your scouts are).

I think there will come a point when the price get's too rich for us and the power shifts to the player. We as the buying club will match his loyalty bonus and more if needs be (and we really want(transfer request)). Wolves know this and want to find the cut off point before things get ****ty and agents make (bigger)fortunes.

Here's another stat for you - Steven Fletcher scored 58.33% of his goals via his Head! The highest proportion for any player with scoring over 10 goals in 11/12.

The simple fact is Fletcher is a credible target that would come here and play from day one. He wouldn't be coming with hidden agendas as with Bent and Gyan.

He would be affordable wages wise and imo, if he can score 12 to 15 goals AND be the focal point of our attack he adds to the team. These stats don't prove everything but they can't just be dismissed either. Anyone who saw that pitiful Wolves team last year knows they created **** all in games. That Fletcher managed to score 12 is remarkable imo.

The so called big names won't do that whatever we pay for them and there is no guarantee they will settle either. Gyan was a disruptive influence imo but Fletcher won't be.

OK so we all agree that 12 million is a fair price for Fletcher and we should do the deal.

Fingers crossed he comes in and turns into a gem. One thing he would get in our team is service. Then it would be up to him to deliver.

My little barcodes bitches you mean? Lol

They can't survive without their masters attention, so they fight for my eye every day.

    Bless them.

As for taking it up the wrong'un, I have absolutely no doubt they would be willing participants in that particular sexual orientation.
