Thoughts on the new site layout? I personally think it looks a half finished job and is a step back. I thought the Maidstone United FC site was difficult and un-friendly but I think I prefer there site over ours now! Maybe it still in development.... Maybe...!

I really don't like the fact that articles go across 2 or 3 pages.

Other than that, I'm sure we'll get used to it. It's not too bad.

When I saw it I thought it must be a new FLi template. Looks like there were options for clubs.

I looked for a random club that I knew would be on a FLi template too, and without spending much time looking into it, I think it looks better

    Derby County: http://www.dcfc.co.uk/page/Home

These seem to be inspired by BBC website (which I like)

Terrible font. I feel like I recognise it as one that looks nice but also unreadable. There's no way I'll be reading full articles with that font.

I think the enormous dropdown menus are even worse than the font, but loads of room for ads and I love ads so I suppose that's great.

The match article from tonight is 7 pages long. Hmmm

Didn't we have to sign up to the football league generic site for some ridiculous amount of time?

Hideous. I might stay away altogether & just rely on the tweet service. Also, it's not at all iPhone friendly.

The club make money with being with FLI, it's something I touched on when I interviewed a member of the press team not long before he left. I like what they have tried to do, the Derby website is suffering from the same issues. Such as widgets are a bit over the place and images lack a certain finish.

Sure they will get it sorted....

Hopefully it's just some bedding in issues. It was just unfortunate we couldn't finance it when we was at the height of our money problems (no, not last week).

Appreciate the club make money Paul but it just seems as if a lot of websites just make changes just for the sake of it nowadays. Same with the BBC Sport website, that was far better how it was - it's been a few months now and I still prefer the old look.

What we need are sports websites designed by sports fans not by web designers with no interest in sport. I might go buy myself a web design book today.

The accuracy of some of these websites is appalling as well - Sky Sports for example - reporting this morning that we crushed Bury Town 5-1 last night & we all know it's not the first time they have made mistakes. We're dealing with amateurs...

It's full of gimmicks and un-user friendly for people with sight impairments. Best left as it was and the one before the FL took them over was even better. I long for the return of the deep blood red Charlton badge and colours.

That is S***! Did they get a five year old to design it?

I do this stuff professionally (albeit for a large company and team), and if we ever served this up to a client, we'll be sacked.

It isn't the club though guys. I think we just have to be patient because the club has explained our opinions.

My thoughts exactly, Pat - also, surely even the most dim-witted web builder knows that you always use a serif-free font to allow people with dyslexia to follow the words properly. Any font exhibiting a serif or cursive script is very difficult, if not impossible for a dyslexia sufferer to read. I know my brother would have serious trouble with this typeface - what the hell is it? All the more annoying because they've reverted to Arial in some parts of the page.

Layout I have no problem with.

It's not just dyslexic people that struggle to read that font.

I think the people saying that it's all FLi who call the shots miss my point. It looks like FLi have offered the clubs a few different templates, and the club have chosen this one. There were others available, some of which looked more like a [clunky] football club website and less like a knitted toy shop. And pages with readable fonts. Most clubs seem to have picked the same style as Derby. Maybe looking 'different' was the club's aim.

    So to sum up

    Change the font.

Arial and Helvetica are your friends. Use them.

    Nooooooo Noooo Noooo !!!

Tahoma is the future, we used to be a Arial Company here then I changed to Tahoma and now everybody uses it. Tahoma is very clear in small font sizes 8 or 9

    Tahoma also your friend

We use Calibri where I work

All of these are better than the font on the new website
