If we don't sign another striker then we will be in a really sorry state cos it's certainly not good enough at the moment. Another few first team players with a couple of good strong squad players, should be enough to challenge top half, which is what the majority on here seem to be aiming for.
need two strikers mate, we were one light last season and that was before Bendtner went back there is then the issue of a proper left back something different in the central midfield pace on the right wing and thats just what we need in the starting line up IMO add 2 or 3 squad additions also maybe more if more leave and we will have a good enough squad and a squad of a good size, cannot have a small squad
Like somebody has already pointed out on here, new team after new team has got us nowhere mate. Build the squad slowly and in stages, let's try going down this road and see if this brings us any success. I personally favour this way as it's easier to gel signings in, when there's not a mass influx of players.
We need minimum 6 players in good players as well not this £3mil crap, I'm talking about £8-10mil players. We struggled doing the full team change because we were replacing like for like and not improving the quality of the players, in essence stagnating for the next season. Not sure we'll get 6 but, I think 4 would not be too far off the mark as said 2 strikers a LB and a creative CM. Those 4 would see us through to January with a decent mid table position, we then get the other two in to freshen up the team and kick on. My expectations this season are a solid finish 10th and above, as I said before this one is all about rebuilding the team so MON is happy with it (his team if you will) so as long as we avoid the dog fight I'll be more than happy.
Agree with Safc,we need a couple of quality signings to improve on what we have, and build a team including what we already have..chopping and changing all the time means we end up in a struggle again. We have a lot of quality how...let's not rock the boat again a la Bruce!!!!
That is what we need to spend though mate to get into the next level and stay there, £20mil will get us where we are now because other teams will be spending about that as well so not a lot of movement in position for a fairly large outlay.
I see your point mate but when we have revamped our squads we have not added enough quality into the quantity I dont think. I know revamping the squad isn't always the way but I think we firstly need to replace the 4 or 5 players that have left and I think another 2 maybe 3 at most will go and we need to bring in an extra 1 or 2 to beef up our squad as even MoN came out around Jan time and said the squad was short on numbers. I think if we brought 4 new players into the first team, a lb, a cm, a winger and a centre forward as we don't have Bendtner anymore I dont think it will take much time for us to gel as long as they get a couple of games under the belt so they need to be signed pretty quickly. then on to players who will beef up our squad, we need to do that even if its signing more than intended we cannot afford to have a small squad because if injuries occur like the past couple of season's we will be all saying why didn't we bring cover into the ..... position
