Yes lets blame Alex Bruce for the lack of kids through our youth system. Before he signed it was a veritable conveyor belt of talent over the years!!
It's obviously not Bruce's fault that players haven't previously made the grade, but we finally have a youth player good enough to make the team and we give him to someone else, merely so we can improve the unemployment situation in the Bruce household. It was unnecessary and it's disappointing.
I think were talking about what happens when a young un does make it off the conveyer belt Chazz. Ignored by a manager who really knows nothing about him.
Firstly i agree SB shouldnt have signed his son. But he has. How will it help him or the team with the constant abuse on here, which will be filtering down to the monkeys in East Stand. How will destroying Alex Bruce endear us/motivate SB to manage Hull City. Secondly Cooper isnt going to make the team he is behind Faye and Chester. From what has been said Bruce has a gob on him, which is something we lack all over the pitch. Chester has great moments and then lacks concentration having an experienced player like Faye or Bruce will bring his game on and eradicate silly errors.
I can't say iv'e ever seen a lack of concentration in JC. Just the opposite in fact. Concentration is Chez's game. Wtf ?
Liam Cooper's a better player now than Alex Bruce will ever be. It's the same with Cairney, he'd looked good in the Premier League, and then we go and play James Harper in front of him. There are kids coming through our youth set up now who should be used as back up, not the likes of Alex Bruce.
Hardly comparable to Cairney and Harper, different types of players, with different attitudes is the reason one was selected over the other. Cooper showed himself to be nothing more than average last season and I would hope with Hobbs, Chester and Faye in the team, neither him nor Bruce will be close to first team regulars.
Good on Steve Bruce for bringing a seasoned player to the squad on yet another free. Alex will be a fine addition to the team and I hope he gets plenty of games.
