I'd rather cooper went out and played most weeks than be fifth choice centre half which he would be if he stayed.
I agree - barring injuries there is no way that Cooper will break through the three of Hobbs/Chester/Faye - which were the three we were all happy with long before Bruce was signed. All signing Bruce has done is push him from being unpicked to being further from the first team - it's not the only thing that would keep him out of the team. Better he goes to league 1 and gets weekly football - then next season he has the chance of breaking through. He's not ready for that now.
Regardless of the quality of the opposition it appears that we still can't score goals. Doesn't bode well for the coming season.
Been saying for ages that Bruce snr is old school and old fashioned when it comes to training methods which lead to injuries. Steve Agnew confirmed live on radio after the Grimsby game that the players had been worked very very hard. Turner has complained about said same thing whilst at Sunderland. Its upto the fitness coach to change anything thats wrong. Thankfully most of the injuries are just niggles. Rosie can start full training now which is good. Hobbs we know about. Faye is overweight and not fit to play at the moment. But the rest are just niggles. Koren has picked up this bug which is doing the rounds locally. The interesting one for me is Paul McShane. Missed Rochdale and now Doncaster. Is his move to Crystal Palace about to happen ? Dudgeon took over from Rosie @ Reading last Jan and did ok. He can play there as a temporary fix and cover. But agree left back under normal situations. I would not worry about injuries now. But maybe this time next week iF the niggles have not cleared up. I only expect to see Hobbs and maybe Evans missing from the Norwich game unless that is we get more injuries and niggles from the Hartlepool game on saturday. Eh up,, a cliche but a valid one. Cooper and Bruce did well from reports. Seams that when the subs started it all went downhill. Considering the players that were missing from the start and this game should be viewed as training / fitness fodder only. 3 @ Ferriby, 5 @ Winterton, 0 @ Grimsby, 1 @ Rochdale and 1 last night. Not great overall but its not now that we should worry. If the same happens in the Rotherham and Brighton games then maybe thats the time to worry.
Cheers Theo, good report. So Bradley woeful and Cooper poor distribution, but i thought they were 50 times better than Alex Bruce everyone on here told me so it must be true.
Cooper struggled big-time once Karl Hawley came on, Hawley ran him ragged. Cooper and Bradley almost certainly need to go out on loan.
i didnt realise it was dudgeon at rb (missed the lineups) which is worrying cos i kept thinking who's this at rb he's awfull. Lets hope rosie is back soon!! As regards the rest cooper and bruce were ok, Proschwitz & Aluko will obviusly start the others wont get anywere near the starting lineup. Ive said on here before what does cairney bring???? He's so one sided, one pace i think his days are numbered and not far behind him cameron stewart
2 goals in 3 games against sides from League One, League Two, and the Conference should definitely be cause for concern IMO. 8 in 2 against North Ferriby and bastard Winterton doesn't impress me too much. I'm praying that we don't have to endure the same boring ****e as we have for the last 3-and-a-half years.
