Right guys, I'm apologising in advance for this, and I know it probably won't read well, and people probably won't understand- but I need to get this rant off my chest...

I haven't posted on a non-prediction based thread for months, mainly because of all the backstabbing (overly- banterous) kind of stuff that goes on here. It's great to read, but I've been too shy to dip my toes.

    So I thought I'd finally share my opinions about this whole rebranding thing and how they've changed with time;

1.) First, I was furious about the red, this is Cardiff, we are the Bluebirds etc. I was angry, irrational, you know the rest...

2.) Then came the period of realisation and calm consideration: Hold on, we could pay off the debts, invest in players, invest in training, invest in the stadium, invest in the security of the club, raise the profile, aim for the Premiership with proper financial backing, yadayada... is a colour too big a sacrifice to accept for all of the above?

3.) Then I realised how stupid ALL of this is.

Lets face it, we all love football. We all, (apart from some of you lovely Swans ;) ) support, and love Cardiff City FC. But to support Cardiff FC, we all have lives in which Cardiff FC fits. However small or large a chunk the mighty Bluebirds take up, they fit in our lives, they never fully consume them, so our time and effort towards CCFC is spent in a certain way. Do we choose to spend it arguing, or supporting?

There are such, huge, horrible, disastrous things going on in peoples (and my own) life - that the colour my football team plays in becomes such a small, petty, stupid little worry; that recently I admit I've become a little bit fed up with all this bickering.

Yes, I'll be the butt of many jokes from my fellow students, my mates- anyone for that matter!
But is this more important than an illness, an addiction, poverty, charity, starvation?
    Noo!!!

    I'm not really sure what I'm trying to get to here, I think, briefly;

Seeing such huge (red-related) arguments, and vile vitriol being spewed over something as silly as a colour really gets to me-
Maybe it's because I'm going through a lot of negative things in my own life at the moment-
but if you still feel like this is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING in your life-

Then I'm afraid I envy you for your lack of worries!! =]

If the only time in your life Cardiff City FC related is filled with negativity towards the thing that you love, how brilliant and stress free must the rest of your life be?

I suppose thats my argument against the KCB case, and something I think I had to get off my chest. While I empathise with their views, and briefly agreed with them, I think life's too short. We should all just accept it, get on with it, and support CARDIFF CITY FC!

    PERSPECTIVE!!!

    Hiya UniBrum.
It was always going to be emotive mate and I guess we need to understand that some will accept the changes a lot easier than others. Apart from those with an ulterior motive, I think it was ok for people to sound off and get things in the open before they came out sideways. As you so correctly say, it's all a question of perspective, and as in everything in life, perspectives will vary greatly.

There seems to be an underlying issue within your post and I sincerely hope that whatever it is that's not going too well for you gets sorted soon. <ok>

    uni, good post mate <ok>
to be honest, unless I've missed something recently, from what I've seen, I think most on here share the same or at least a similar view. Nobody really wants the change but most can see the long term benefits.

Just got back from the pre season at Cheltenham and although it was just a friendly, I've got my live game buzz back big time and I'm only bothered about the season starting now. <ok>

Easy for me to say but try taking the positives from your negatives and things wont seem so bad mate <ok>

Many thanks for your responses guys, Clingo I think you've put it better than I could have, and thanks for the good wishes =] geniunely-

I was watching the twitter updates for the game tonight, seems like Etien had a good game and was linking up well with Earnie?
I would love to see him bang in a few goals for us again, though of course I fear it may be too late- in which case I would prefer he scored elsewhere instead of not being used here!

Like the both of you, I'm itching for the season to start. Not long now...

Is right on the money there, as fottie fans we tend to think it's the most important thing in our lives but it's only sport.

    Keep well.

    Good post Uni.

The move to red shirts is ridiculous.

However i'll support Cardiff City in any colour.

Good post Uni, well sums up the feelings of many on here. <applause>

My first friendly will be Newcastle and then the games come thick and fast. I'm enjoying the Olympics (going to tonight's game) but nothing beats the buzz of proper football. Well, nearly nothing, if you get my drift. <smooch>

Thats not necessarily the case. But we couldnt run day to day without VTs money.

If he withdrew we would be in serious trouble.

Thats my problem with KCB. If he did they have no plan B.

Of course he may not have withdrawn if wed stayed in blue. But we dont know for certain.

The only way out of this is to go up and get in a stronger financial position and hopefully back to blue.

Uni, I think the majority of fans take your view on the whole. There is more to life than football and the colur of the shirt is almost irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
I still hate the new badge, it's bloody awful, however it does remind me of home and a pint of Brains becuase it does look like a beer mat :)

agree with most of what you've said but 'Do we choose to spend it arguing, or supporting?'. sorry but ANY club in world football would be mad if some foreigner came in to their club and forced a new badge and colours on the club.

ccfc isnt my life and there are far more important matters in evertyones lives of course, but its still a part of your life, which club you support......<ok>

Sat in our Chester office and there are lots of rumours doing the rounds on that one.

As for shirt colour, they were wearing blue last night!

Well it looks like Liverpool are going to pay off the final season of Bellamy's contract ( 80,000 week ) remote & Craig's going to give Cardiff another kick at the can at promotion ..... kinda figured he would ... The best of the best news if true . I don't think there's much doubt at Bellamy's commitment to Cardiff promotion , I think he'll keep playing till it's a reality this time .

That's the rumour doing the rounds up here cracker. Hard to believe Liverpool would pay £4M to get rid of Bellamy. There was talk of a £2M fee a few weeks back. I would have thought Rodgers would keep him if he's going to pay him anyway. Why would you pay £4M and get nothing rather than £4M and get a player of Bellamy's obvious class for a season. Doesn't make sense. Or is he clearing the decks for the arival of Scott Sinclair?

I'd bite their hand off though.

Why not? They are prepared to lose a bucket load on Andy Carroll <laugh>

They'll negotiate a figure for Bellamy's departure , bottom line though is Bellamy's got a bad case of Cardiffitis & he wants to play at Cardiff .. no matter what color he wears . Big respect for Bellamy if this happens remote .. have a good one !

It appears Liverpool have money to burn - dumping Carroll for not much more than 50% of what they paid for him and letting Bellers walk away (it seems). It will be interesting to see if the Swans get their full £15m for Allen. Now if they are also after Sinclair (and why not) I wonder what the Swans will want for him - not less than Allen's fee I guess.
