i think everyone bar Spurs fans forget that this is not the first time Adam has crocked Bale..he ripped the lads ligaments last time and Bale missed 3 months..i fuking hope someone breaks Adamsss leggs the **** basterd...

 

you cant blame footballers for not giving a crap about the Olympics what lost its soul many years ago but many idiots still buy tickets and fund the mass hysteria...once upon a time the Olympics was for amateurs to make a name for themselves...and why would a footballer want an Olympic gold medal when the pinnacle of a footballers achievements is surely the World Cup.

Didn't know Wales were going to win the World Cup, this is the greatest sporting event in the World and for some reason someone thinks he can get away with breaking Olympics rules by saying they weren't going to be fit and then playing for their club side.

 

That's clearly not what happened though, is it?
His fitness levels were known to Team GB and he wasn't selected.
He didn't pull out, nor did Spurs stop him from playing.
There are still 4 Tottenham players at the games.

 

You pulled him out for an injury, said he was out of the Olympics and are broke the rules. Are the 4 players key players like, Rose isn't exactly a regular for Tottenham.

 

Though Pearce has persisted with Sturridge who had menengitis coming into the games. Club and international relations have been muddled for decades, probably due to Fergies influence in the 90's, neither side wants to lose face so statements end up supporting each other. Had Bale been interested he could've been in that squad.

 

I'm not sure why people are struggling with this.
Bale wasn't pulled from the Olympic squad and didn't say that he wanted to be left out.
Team GB assessed his fitness and didn't select him.

What part of that is confusing?

 

Giggs is captan of the GB team yet missed friendlies for 9 years for the Welsh team...........but i bet every Welsh man thinks he is great because he turned up for Team GB...(sarcasm)..and im sure in the future your club will be moaning about the ACON.....the man did not go for whatever reason non Spurs fans want to give...so its a pointless debate.

 

I agree it's not ideal but the rules say he should have played for the Olympics and didn't. We lost Tiote, Ba and Cisse and had to cope with it. Net year we will lose at least one of them. I personally believe any player who pulls out should be banned and remember Sunderland fans I know admitting a few years back that Collins should have been banned for missing a Wales game.
Oh and finally personally I wouldn't have taken Giggs.

Olympic rules state that any player under 23 aren't allowed to pull out of Olympic clubs but clubs have the right to stop any player over the age of 23 from going, therefore Newcastle had the say on two 27 year old footballers.

You're being incredibly naive PNP, if you believe Bale was unfit and made some miracle recovery. Like others have said, Giggs did it for years, players are always being withdrawn from international sides citing injury or burnout as the reason, the difference here is that most of them don't have the gall to play friendlies while they're supposedly recovering. If Bale was available he would've gone. Either he's pulled out and bullshitted about being injured, or he was genuinely injured and made a miracle recovery in time to play a couple of friendlies.

Agreed, I quite like Tottenham and would have loved to have seen you win the league last year when it looked like it was a possibility.
