Take it this was directed at me. I didn't once slag off any manager, I like Hughes and trust him to take us in the right direction. I also think he builds relationships with players extremely well. I was just confused as to why a full back was playing in central midfield. We KNOW Fabio is a full back, we've seen him play there for Manchester United under Ferguson. As far as i'm aware, Ferguson has never used him centrally in any match. I'm also fully aware this was a pre season friendly, which eludes further to my point, that I personally feel it would have been a great time to start him in his natural position, where he can gel and get used to the defence around him. It just makes sense to me.
They're paid to be shot at, its part of their job. I've no problem with people slagging them off. They're looked after well enough in their contracts.
Well that game sorted a few things out didn't it? SWP can both pass and score! Dyer can play longer than 3 minutes. Wasn't bad either - and despite some comments on the chatline, never saw him limping. Ned Onuoha scored a header and well chuffed! Gareth Ainsworth is STILL an R! (Got Hogan's shirt and used it celebrate with the Rs fans at the end - to the tune of 'one Gareth Ainsworth!) Robert Green CAN catch the ball.
Only saw last 45 min but i have to agreed that it looked pretty good. Why wasn't Hoilett in the squad?
Just back. crowd of 3871 i reckon they had no more than 6-700. Great turn out by the R's. Best chant of the night from Wycombe fans that sang 'is that all you take away', they also sang an anti Terry chant in support of Anton. I can see why we are being linked to another striker. Cisse needs someone else other than Bobby/Adel/AJ. Nice evening and a nice club, (just a nightmare to get out of).
Thanks for that Ellers. Sounded like a good work out for the boys. You reckon Cisse looked a bit isolated?
Think your being generous Ellers. I was talking to a mate who's senior at the club, he was incredibly grateful to the rangers fans for turning out in such numbers. Compared to Fulham this was huge for them. We can't forget in our current position just how much the extra revenue means to clubs lower down the leagues.
From the bits I saw on the Upstream whatever it was, it looked pretty dull, apart from Gareth and the reception and send off he got. But then I been watching too much Olympian football lately!
it was a pretty typical low level friendly really. glad SWP improved in the 2nd half, cos he was dreadful in the 1st!! and we must've had about 80% possession, Barcelonaesque.........
Yes i do but as i said before we will be hard to break down. I can se what Hughes is trying to do. I thought Fabio looks good and wants to keep going forward. Adel seemed a bit lazy tonight.
