City have have used four captains tonight - Hudson, Ralls, Blake and Keinan. They have changed all 11 players v Cheltenham. Still lead 4-0
From CC player Velikonja done well without scoring. Lewis, Oshilaja, Keinan, Nugent, John, Sainte-Luce, Wharton, Hill, Owen, Jarvis & Darko. Came on as subs I picked up a few good things for Nugent & Wharton but City went off the boil with so many subs.
Just got back.... some nice stuff played in the first half fair play. They all looked pretty fit and some great passing moves. 4 good goals although not really much pressure from Cheltenham tbh. (keeper was still arranging his wall as Whitts free kick flew past him) For a first impression, Velikonja looks to be a good signing. Some nice touches, rapid turns and unlucky not to score just before Whitts goal. I've got a feeling this boy is going to shine. Second half started well enough but all the changes killed the tempo a little but the boys who came on, again, all looked sharp and there is some speed coming through the ranks... at last! Sainte-Luce and Wharton stood out for me. Will keep an eye on these two. As you'd expect, Cheltenham got more into the but the new lads all worked hard as a team unit to keep them out. Quite a few missing tonight though. Mason, Cowie, Gunnar, Harris, SuperKev, Macca. Hope they're all just precautions Overall a good squad workout and well worth the trip
Just got home myself H. Was working in Cheltenham yesterday and today so went to the game before driving back to cheshire. Etiene looked sharp and had a couple efforts on goal. Works hard closing down and looking for space. Pick of the bunch was Ralls. Chased and harried, always provided an outlet and barely wasted a pass. Whitts was constructive and scored a cheeky goal from a quick freekick that left their keeper with egg on his face and a barage of abuse from the city fans behind his goal, even after he'd been subbed. With all 11 subs on the youngsters looked quite composed and created a few 1/2 chances. Nugent is an absolute monster, looks very similar to Turner in terms of physique and appearence. Looks as if he can play a bit as well. Started at left back then moved into the middle. He'll be a big boy when he grows up. Harris looks quick and well balanced and will get better as players learn about him. Earnie scored a neat header but looked off the pace to start but improved as the game went on. Not sure about him and Etien up front, too similar as were him and Miller last year. Nice goal for Taylor who also set up Earnie's. In general, a good performance with some nice phases of play, but still quite a bit to do.
lol, yeah their keeper took some stick. Best chant of the night was "Cheltenham's No1" as their sub keeper came on
I thought the pitch was immaculate. Not too much to be taken from the game and I wouldn't argue with what remote has said.
