That's the point. Why set them high when we could fall flat on our face? Why not set a decent target and if anything else happens then it'll be a bonus?

Because some of us enjoy life more by thinking 'anything's possible, let's give it a go'. If you are driven by fear of failure, in my experience you won't reach your maximum level of achievement. But I may be wrong. Either way, there's no harm in some of us aiming high. If we struggle again, I won't be slitting my wrists.

That's fine mate. But don't come back on here wondering why other Club's fans don't like us and think we're arrogant cu*ts.

I'd much prefer if we left the stupid stuff to Leeds and Forest fans myself.

Let me know if you ever see me moaning about being disliked by other clubs. Don't think I ever have and don't think I ever will, as I really don't care. I don't often post on other clubs boards and when I do it's to ask a question ( ok sometimes a little tongue in cheek) rather than wind them up or make stupid claims. But on our own board we have the right to be as pessimistic or optimistic as we want, **** what others think.
The Citeh fans love us by the way.

If we get disliked it will because of a couple of prominent factors: Jealousy and i have forgotten the other one but we are in it for QPR and we are bound to attract comment ... I am always nice to other teams unless of course they don't agree with my opinion in which case I then insult them and face to face have been known to bite.

Could be worse we could be Man Utd

Hooray, a proper post at last, gave me a laugh. The standard has dropped through the floor recently, myself included. We are flabby with close season excess and ennui, we need to sharpen up and be ready for the big kick off. Otherwise we may end up like Winnebago Man.

Do we represent a genuine threat?

We won't know that until we see whether this vintage kicks arse and develops a winning habit - especially away from home.

As F1 shows, you can have an engine with all the bits and specialist mechanics tweaking stuff at every given opportunity - and still the thing drives like a dog.

We just have to wait and see what gives. Fingers crossed we make a reasonable start and keep the points coming in.

your biggest drawback is sparky.... good player in fact one of the best in his time, but a crap manager...like us you should get to mid table if sparky can improve ...

That post confirms to me that every Clubs fans tend to lose the run of themselves in the run up to the Season. It was the same with the Euros. The closer we got to them the more people started coming out with things like "England can win this" and "Ireland could take Spain". That's not optimism to me. That's getting carried away with the euphoria.

For Swans fans to be thinking of mid-table again is pie in the sky stuff. Trust me mate, when it comes to next April, you'd bite my hand off for 17th place.

As for our lads, some of the predictions on here are appalling. Absolutely appalling. You'll find they're coming out of the same planks that had us heading for Europe this time last year with Bothroyd leading the line and Dyer dashing up the flanks with over 50 assists.

    Entirely banal :emoticon-0113-sleep

Can you do me a kindness?
It doesn't make any difference to me at this juncture....don't slam the ****ing door!

Careful DT it's addictive. My entire family yell "accoutrema!!" at moments of frustration, including the 12 year old girl.

Alright, notice from other threads you're hooked, but applying the knowledge wisely.

At the moment, we represent a threat only to the other Clubs expecting to be in the relegation fight next spring. The players we have brought in so far this summer are the kind who can be expected to be starting games at the bottom end of the PL or top end of the Championship, there's nothing yet to suggest anything better than last season. Defensively, DCM, back 4, and GK, we still look weak for a PL Club.

That's a bit too far the other way for me but I respect your view Ozzie.

I think we should be pushing for mid-table this season but you're correct in that we must remember we only scraped survival last season.
