I think if he stays he will try but will fail to perform like he did last season. He doesn't perform well when under pressure. Remember when he was just a goal or two away from a reaching that goal target (not sure if it was the 100 goals) he just couldn't find the net. Also the euros, all eyes were on him and he missed sitters my granny would have scored.
Given the choice of him going to Juve for £15M or Citeh/United for £30M, which would you pick? Assuming you got to reinvest all of that money in the team.
The chances are that all the money won't be reinvested in the team, wenger has never worked like that. We still had a surplus from last year on the nasri and fab sales, that has pretty much been spent on podolski and grioud. Man u will not even pay 20 million for him, while im not even sure city will pay more than 20 million for him, so would take the lower juventus offer.
The man can go to what ever team he wants. All he said he will not be signing a new Contract he did not say he want to leave now he just said will not be signing a new contract at the end of his contract. The man was born in the Netherlands not North London. Like everyone else in their job if you want to leave your job (to get better deal or not) most of you probably would. He is not our prisoner. Why do so much fun hate him cos he wants to leave so what. If he was not one of our better players you be screaming for him to leave anyway bias.
Being rational and being a footy fan are mutually exclusive. How dare he leave us, there is no other club like Arsenal, after all we have done for him, he will never achieve anything anywhere else, he is an ingrate blah blah. The sad thing is these fans actually believe that... It is his choice if he wants to go, like you correctly said, he is not a slave, all he has said is he will not be renewing his contract, so it is not my decision or any fan for that matter whether he goes this term or not.... I can guess what this Board will do, going by recent happenings....... However to answer the question, which of the Manchester clubs, I would prefer he went to City, (from a purely selfish perspective on my part), with what city have and their potential buying power, he will only improve that squad by 6-10%, and if he has any injury he may struggle to get back into the starting 11, whereas, at united and what they currently have, he will improve them by at least 30%, and will be a dead cert starter!
Agreed Aguero may struggle to get 37 goals playing for Arsenal, but remember Aguero has only been here 1 season (I think). Can RVP repeat this feat though?
I don't think he's better than Aguero. RVP is an awesome player, but our whole attacking system was built around him and giving him chances. If we'd done the same with Aguero, he'd most probably have had an amazing season here too. I really can't see why Man City want RVP seeing as I don't think he'd get much of a look-in ahead of Tevez, Aguero or Balotelli ('cause Mancini seems to be in love with him). It just seems to me like another case of negative buying: buying players so other clubs can't have them.
Agree 100%, about Aguero... Don't really know why Citeh want him, (apart of because they can, he soon will be out of contract and to stop United getting him). Which is why I said he will only marginally improve their squad.
How about we make the comparison fairer then? Let's get Aguerro to play 15 games per season the first 3 seasons, be second fiddle to Adebayor for another 3, and then give him 2 seasons as a regular starter... Maybe he'll warm up to the 37.
I'm not even sure why City would bother going for him... Higuain would make much more sense for them in my opinion.. But City need to offload three or four unwanted high earners before they even think about spending on a big player (one of the negatives of their past over the top wages).. So unless Adebayor, takes a massive wage cut.. RVP won't be joining. Not really bothered about whether or not he joins United, we didn't struggle to score goals, and Kagawa will only add a few more... He's 29, so it's alot of money to pay, however he's one of the few strikers who has the technique and brain to have an impact well into his 30's. Bergkamp style. After all the fuss, I could see him staying at Arsenal and joining someone abroad on a free next season.... Or even changing his mind - if you have an unexpectedly good season... Which could happen.
