    It was on SSN this morning, aparantley Villa want him, but we're offering him 40k a week.

    I think we should be careful, because Villa can easily challenge us financially, despite spending a **** load and being a bit low on cash.

    But I suppose it will be a test on his ambition, would he rather be in a relegation fodder, or a Europa League team, maybe pushing for the CL?

    Douglas has one year left on his contract, but i'd say it's better to wait a year. Douglas isn't ready yet to play in the EPL. Made some big errors last season and was very inconsistent. One solid season and he should be good to sign in my opinion.

    Given its on the blog, I'd take it with a pinch of salt. We'll see. Maybe Pards is looking at Good, Tavernier and Streete as saving him some pennies.

    As they are unproven I'd hope that those three lads are very much seen as part of the european squad. I personally still see them as part of the development squad rather than the first team squad TBH.

    Me too although I know a number of lads who go to the reserves and they all expect Streete to force his way in this year. They reckon the boy is a talent who was really going well before injury struck last year.

    I'd still like to sign one personally

    Issue being if we wait till he's out of contract then we may face much more competition in trying to sign him? Especially if he looks a better player.

    Coming sunday the Johan Cruijff Schaal match is going to be played. It's similar to the Community Shield. Ajax will play PSV Eindhoven in the Amsterdam Arena. I will make a match thread of it with and will add links so that you guys can see for yourself what the Eredivisie is like.
    In the match the following players you should watch will very likely be fielded:

    Ajax:
    Vurnon Anita
    Gregory van der Wiel
    Christian Eriksen
    Siem de Jong
    Alderweireld

    PSV:
    Georgino Wijnaldum
    Luciano Narsingh
    Tim Matavz
    Ola Toivonen
    Jermaine Lens

    These are considered to be in the pool of greatest talents currently in the Eredivisie.

    The match will start at 17:00 GMT
