Fantastic when he came on today , looked so sharp and got stuck in at some vital moments. Gutted for Lee to miss the end of the season however , another person to win it for along with Markus.

On the game - I really thought we wouldn't win that mid-way through the second half, the ball just wasn't dropping for us, the ref was abysmal and we couldn't get that all important break.

Guly does nothing all game but pops up with a bit of magic that come the end of the season may be worth his transfer fee alone!

Credit to Brizzle and their fans, they got behind their side and I've nothing against them and their quest to stay up. They tried to get a point and if Kuffour had scored that early chance, they might have got all 3.

An ugly 1-0 win and a poor performance but I'd take 5 more of those everyday of the week , showing signs of a good team by not playing well but still winning, however Huddersfield did the same unfortunately.

I've already said it on 606, but I'll basically mention it again on here:

David Connolly has one very, very important goal in him. A 20 yard drive, an 8 yard header, a 2 yard scrambled tap-in. I don't know what, but he was one in him - and it will be vital for our season. Either turning a defeat into a draw or a draw into a win. I've said this for about 2 months now, and the more the weeks go by, the more I know it's going to happen.

The little Irishman's one and only major contribution to this season - and probably his last ever major contribution in a Southampton shirt - will be an invaluable one, and one that will live with us for a long time to come.

David Connolly is a good player, and a valuable player to have. however, he is too injury-prone and for that reason alone I think he will be released at the end of the season, however as st_brendy says I think he has a very valubale goal in him

He'll be off at the end of the season I agree- even more reason for him to play well and give it his all in his final few games for us.

Jeez Lambden. All this mentioning Markus in every post is so sentimental. But please why the **** do you mention him? Are you emotionally unstable because I'm starting to feel like a knife to my wrist is nicer than hearing you mention Markus in every thread of yours.

On topic. I'm happy we won. I was starting to get fidgetty though.

Yeh stop saying WIFM every thread. We'll show our love for him in the Walsall game. The more it is said the less impact it has.

Ignoring the posts suddenly having a go about nothing, Connolly was absolutely fantastic today. Made the runs, tackled back, got in Rovers' faces which is what we'd been missing all day. Like people have said, his role could be absolutely crucial in the run-in. COYS

Are you seriously f*cking mentally ******ed?

I made an article on it and have mentioned Markus ONE other time - in this article in reference to Barnard's injury.

Why do I mention him? Were you actually dropped on your head when you were born?

The man saved us from going bust , sorry for mentioning and appreciating that ever so often. I'll boo the fans who put the currently-in-creation flag for him at the Walsall game should I?

    Jesus f*cking christ.

Today I will remember DC for his brilliant crunching tackle - it was Psycho esque!! Get the ball but make sure man goes down too :)

He will contribute massively in the run in now!

Hope Barney's ok but fear we will not see him till next season now

A lot of our players injured and we still looked good in 2nd half and won game vindicates our manager's belief in the squad system.
Never noticed Lambden's supposed obsession with Markus and I wouldn't care if he was. Look at my name..Markus is a hero to me and a very fond memory.

Didnt manage to get to the game yesterday or even listen to it. :(
but from all accounts i've read conners had a cracking impact yesterday, the worrying thing for me though. we only have rickie, guly, and conners, and for me if conners starts playing more, it will only be a matter of time for him to pick up a knock, would be intresting to see, when OXO is back, if adkins trys him up top?

    would love to see it:)

and i don't see anything wrong with mentioning, markus name at every giving opp

    so.. WIFM

Is Ryan Doble able to be recalled from Oxford? If so, we could use him on the bench as back-up, I'm sure he's more than ready.

Didn't he come on to score in injury time against Shrewsbury in the 1st round of the cup to prevent the replay? I'd say that was a pretty important goal. I do however think he does have another in him, well i hope anyway.

Personally I don't. I know that I am in the minority, but I wanted us knocked out in round one of the FA Cup. And the fact that games against Oldham and Charlton were subsequently postponed is the reason. A run in the JPT is fine - the games are midweek, there is no extra-time or replays, and the vast majority take place before Christmas. But an FA Cup run is completely different, and I just did not want the distraction.

Of course playing Blackpool and Man United was great, but honestly I still would have taken being knocked out in round 1. I said that at the time, and I still say it now.

If it wasn't for ML we wouldn't be here, so mention him as often as you like. The man is a Saint and I will always be grateful. That JPT photo with Fran's little camera is an image that will stay with me for life and every time Fran posts I am there again.

5 more ugly wins and we are there.
