    Goodwood 3.10 Chachamaidee

You know the script, if your on it, get out while you can.

Very poor price, 7/4 Group 3 winning filly up against serious Group 2 Stallions, wont be winning.

Thats why they call me Boris Fenster

It will win. I have backed it at 15/8 and am more than happy. It wont be the first time you have laid a nice little winner ;-)

There is a lot of confidence behind this one I don't think you'll see the bookies taking it on.

Hmm I really wish I could oppose you Boris, but I can't make a case for Chachamaidee however hard I try

I look forward to thanking you after the race. With Libranno and Firebeam, im very confident of getting her beat, just like last time, this is a better race and she is a shorter price.

Now 13/8 in places generally 6/4...plenty want this Cecil mare...would appear a good thing...not one to lay for me.

Would appear a good thing to the masses of losing punters. This is her level, she has nothing to spare and the race wont be run to suit, she couldnt get past Joviality last time, id be seriously concerned about the prospect of her having to pass Libranno, especially if he gets the run of the race which seem very likely. He sets the standard, he has the best form, he has won two Group 2s and three Group 3s. He should be 7/4, not Chachamaidee, I told you all last time, not to fall for the chacha has improved patter, she is entitled to be fancied for this race, but a clear 6/4 fav? Not in a million years, good luck lads, stick to value in the future.

youve got three "goodthings", Michelangelo, Chachacha and Morawij, the 3 of them will not win, that simply dosent happen, of the 3 Morawij is the best value, he is the banker of the day, Michelangelo has a serious chance of winning but it wont be easy, and the mugs will no doubt let the bookies off the hook by steaming into chachamaidee somehow having got it into their heads thats she a cert to beat real Group 2 colts, where this notion has come from I have no idea, a filly who has won two egg and spoon Group 3s. Dont read into the 2nd to Saphresa, Saphresa was toying with them, she won very easily, the way a Group 1 filly does against Group 2 fillies.

Chachamaidee certainly represents something of a punting quandary, to this correspondent, today. If someone held a gun to my head, although I’m sure that no-one would want to do that, then I’d say that Sir Henry’s mare was the most likely winner of the race but do think that current quotes of 6/4 are quite frankly Bonkers with a capital ‘B’. Especially when you consider that on official ratings she isn’t the best in the race, meets a few rapidly improving sorts and hasn’t won on the old turf since this meeting last year. Furthermore this 7 runner affair has the potential to develop into something of a tactical affair where we get a false pace which ultimately could see the formbook thrown out of the window.

In conclusion if I had to nominate a winner it would still however be Chachamaidee and certainly hope she does oblige for old boy Sir Henry but, in my opinion, is she value at 6/4 – no way and that is not a quote I’d want to take! Meanwhile, I can see why people would be keen to lay her because of the above at the price of 6/4. She is more of a 3/1 – 7/2 shot in my book today. The shortness of the price of Chacamaidee means I’ll be sitting on the old fence, hope I don’t get splinters, whilst saying ‘no bet’. As contradictory as this may sound though I can understand why people would want to (a) back the mare and (b) lay her.

Im suprised by some of the comments from guys who should know better like Stick and TopClass, saying she is great value, their is absolutely no juice in the price at all, you are spot on Barney, she has a good chance, but a 6/4 chance? No chance, im a layer at the price all day long.

I didnt say it was value Boris. I said she will win. I also told you I had taken 15-8. You would have been laying her at around 2~1 which right now doesnt smack of genius does it fella.

    Stick's right - something's gone wrong if you're laying a 6/4 shot at 2/1.

No bet race for me. I think they are all vulnerable. Wouldn't be surprised to see something romping clear and also wouldn't be surprised to see them finish in a line. You lot are braver than me.

I havent layed her yet? So where is this 2/1 coming from? You can lay at 13/8 just now, I will wait for liquidity before the race.
