Platt's goal against Belgium in the 1990 World Cup finals was one of the most memorable moments for an England supporter. I liked Platt as a player, the team that included Shilton, Pearce, Butcher, Robson, Waddle, Beardsley, Lineker, Barnes, Platt, Gascoigne etc was the time I probably most enjoyed watching England.
Agreed. That team had a lot of creativity as well as being solid. Do you remember the name of the Belgium striker in the above game who tore England apart for most of the game before Platt's late winner?
Just googled that team and I'm pretty sure it was Enzo Scifo. I seem to remember Gasgoigne was predicted to be the star of that game, but Scifo ran rings around England.
