CI is rubbish now, used to be decent when it was multi board, used to get stagmad etc I seldom even bother checking on there now.

I hated the way he always wrote his name at the end of his posts. (Like above) - it was like he thought what he was saying was that important, he had to sign it. He was very arrogant. Didn't he once ask a question at a fans forum and he got a few boo's ?

Didn't do either 606 or CI, just did HDM which drove me mad.
    Hope it doesn't show? <nahnah>

I asked him about that, and it was more a habit he picked up and, being John, couldn't drop.

When he first joined the messageboard, the instructions said posters can add a signature to their reply if they wish, and he misunderstood it. It was quite some time later before he found out, by which time the habit had formed.

John was many things, but I never felt he was arrogant. He was quite an interesting guy to chat to provided you could herd him away from his 'topic'.

I found him nice enough when he was in the chat room one time. We talked about golf with a few others.

did you know him personally dutch? is he dead as rumoured? he always indicated that he was dying and i believe he was confined to a wheel chair. i remember many a night going into the hull city chatroom, and if your name was not there, his certainly usually was.

Im almost sure that he has passed away Mussie. I remember cloggie from CI saying he thought he may have been the last one to see him alive. I dont think JF was arrogant. He was just very dogmatic and I understand his dossiers were very detailed.

Not personally no. I don't believe I even met him.

I only spoke to him on the messageboards and chat rooms, and even then I tended to avoid him on the messageboard because his name told you what the post was about. He was better in the chat rooms though.

I think his legacy is quite incredible really. People come and go from these boards. One trick ponies are soon forgotten, but John, for all his single issue campaign that was opposed by almost everyone, is still spoken of, and generally warmly.

Have to agree with Dutch in that JF's posts were terrible BUT you could always have a decent discussion with him IF you kept off the topic off you know who !!!!!
