Right i am sure a lot of us have been thinking it, a fair few have been saying it, but can we please just stop this squabbling? I am firmly in the ostrich camp mentality (or so i have been told) but the insults and general behaviour just hasn't been what i would consider Charlton like. Above all else, we all want what is best for this club, it is OUR club after all. If we are in financial trouble, we are in financial trouble. If we are not, we are not. Either way it is not the fault of any loyal Charlton fan is it? I am sure we have all stuck with the club regardless, and will continue to do so, but this needs to stop. I understand that some of you believe the rumours, and myself and a fair few others do not, but that is no reason to be causing a barney between 2 fan forums that both fly the same flag. If the club has problems, the simple fact of it is there is feck all any of us can do about it, unless Ponders and Tewkes are secretly really middle eastern oil overlords.

We are about to kick off a season that sees us back in the Championship, it will be a long hard season at that. Come the end of the season we could be licking our wounds and returning to League one, in that case the club needs solidarity. We could finish mid table and need to stick with it for another year, or maybe, just maybe, win promotion and return home to the Prem, and i am sure nobody will argue we would all love to see that.

So come on, stop the bickering and get back to supporting the club, after all it could be a lot worse, we could be Palace fans:laugh:

I'd be inclined to agree if I didn't think all the muck raking, mudslinging and gossip might be doing our great club harm. Even if most of it is true I can't imagine the search for new investment will be aided by local press reporting Internet rumours as fact. I have mostly kept my powder dry and have never resorted to personal insult but I do think we should respond when certain individuals come on here shouting the odds about how clever they all are on another forum. I agree the bickering should stop but so should the gossip-mongering until we are equipped with facts. The trouble is everyone wants something to talk about and the transfer market isn't providing us with much material this year.

I do have to agree. Though I will point out my problem isn't with another website - but one individual who has been placed in a position of power (well, ahem) and abuses it by posting online, under a pseudo name and about topics which he seemingly knows little about. This isn't the first time and due to the readership size of CL it does have consequences (severe ones at that).

In this instance, one cryptic message caused gossip to spread like wildfire through all Charlton forums - causing panic with some individuals going as far to genuinely concern themselves with the fact we might not make Birmingham away. Is that right for an employee of the the club to do this? He was asked by copious amount of individuals if he would explain further (he had said this much, so elaborating wouldn't have hurt), but he stayed quiet. Even though he no doubt had the opportunity to respond and read all feedback.

I'm sure there are a ton of people who will hate what I have to say - but in this instance I think something has to be done.

I disagree. Someone needs to stretch right while they go left because if not, you don't find the middle.

We cannot allow a right cult like Aiman to undermine the stability and future of our club. Just because the new board wont let him play with the club anymore like it his own little toy. He delibrately set out to hurt and damage the club with well timed and malicious rumour. The same club that has paid his wages and supported his minimal talent as a thank you for services he never rendered in the first place.

Any other employer wouyld have sacked his sorry arse, he jeopardised transfers, season ticket sales, and put the club in a spin. Why? To remind the board that he has his own site, with his own band of season ticket buying followers and he could call on the flying monkeys not to think for themselves but collapse at his smelly feet.

Charlton Life needs to wake up and take a long hard look at itself, its becoming a cult, a forum for the unimaginative, lazy and ignorant.

I totally agree with the sentiment that we are all CAFC supporters except some love themselves more than the club.

I am not sure it is for us (as supporters) to decide who the Club should employ, yes we like to have our say on the manager, assistant manager, coaching staff & players but that is because they are the public face of the Club. If we start saying the 'Tea lady' is poor (she isn't by the way :)) and needs to be replaced then where does it end?

I am sure the people in charge at Charlton are well aware who Airman is and if they feel there are grounds for his removal then this will happen, if they feel his comments are either acceptable OR have been sanctioned from higher up then no further action will be taken.

I have just come from Jury Service and all judges say to jurors that their decision has to be based on the facts (as presented) ONLY but the problem here is that we do not know ALL the facts so we are not in a position to make judgement. You would expect that senior people (who can obtain the facts) at the club are looking at this as we type so we should leave any future employment decisions to them.

I have said many times before that I do not agree with Airman publishing non-public Company information on a fans forum but (as I have said above) it is for the Club's Directors to decide what action should be taken, not us.

We do know that a club employee has realeased company sensitive information without its express permission. The motive for doing so is the issue under disscussion but it is not unreasonable for us to conclude it was done as a malicious act for personal benefit.

How do we know if it was without permission? Nobody from the Club have said anything about it so either the rumour was leaked with permission OR nobody at the Club read CL (which I can not believe) OR the Club are presently carrying out an internal enquiry.

Whatever way it is, we should not carry out a kangaroo Court on here...IMHO

Slater saying he has heard the rumours and it's nonsense gives an indication the club didn't sanction it. Much like information he has divulged in the past (which I KNOW wasn't sanctioned)

I have said many times that I do NOT agree with Airman's actions but it has to be for the Club to decide on future action not us. Airman is the Club's employee, it is the Club's information that is being leaked, Airman has a contract with the Club not the supporters!

Every employment contract has a confidentiality clause about NOT allowing company information into the public domain, if this has been broken then the club will have every right to dismiss him.

Absolutely right AHLL That Airmen has a contract with the club and not the supporters. He knew that, the club knew that, but he chose to break it. Now it is in the supporters domain at his action, we can judge him for it.

If the club don't sack him, I am asking myself why not? Has he got something on them? is he regarded as a unimportant baffoon, who can be manipulated and counted on to grass? Is he good at his job and just suffered? Why is here still at a job that he clearly abuses?

But we as fans have every right to question his motives for leaking information.

Question his motives YES <ok> but not to try and hang him. I think the Salem Witch trials taught us one thing... you need an unbiased jury to hold a fair trial... let the Club make a decision based on the facts because THEY will have to defend that decision if any sacking went to a employment tribunal.

The Salem Witch trials were a huge success. They never suffered from withcraft after that trial.

I am saying that he used the supporters as his pawns and it backfired because some (on this site and in CL) questioned its legitimacy. He caused absolute chaos because he wanted to, not because he had the best interests of the club at heart.

If he wants a fair trial, then where is his explanation? He was quick enough to post it? where's the rebuttal? The proof of the statement, the qualification of it all?

I completely agree with you all about Mr.Airman, he is a complete idiot. And although that is our opinion i can also see that obviously a number of people are believing his story. That is up to them, they are entitled to believe it just as we are to think it is tosh. By all means i would quite happily get us all together and stage a protest outside The Valley just for the fun of it, or maybe all of you should sign up to the Valley volunteers and we can front him to his face. However those of us who dislike him and those who think he is the messiah need to stop popping off at each other, although they believe him they didn't post it, he did. I for one want him out, he is a liability and not fit to work for a football club if he passes out sensitive information to make himself look cool, it is childish behaviour i would expect on the playground. Plus if the rumours are true and we need to find someone to come in with some money, if they had one look on that forum nobody with a brain would put their own money in knowing that info gets leaked online by a club employee. Utter madness

As an Oil Overlord (how on earth did you guess, Jimmy?), I would happily invest millions if the club really needed it. But the club does not need urgent financial assistance in the way that the doom-mongers are making out.
My sources tell me (and I will not divulge their identities) that the club is in a process of change, a process that will bolster its standing, not one that will weaken its ability to compete on and off the field. Have trust in the guys who have done us proud so far. They deserve time and space to get the process complete and ordered.
This whole fiasco is the making of little people who feel inadequate in their lives and therefore utilise (to their own twisted ends) the attention the club gives them by-proxy. The continuing debates and rows are fuelling the flames and upsetting people just weeks before the campaign starts. It is maddening and downright disturbing to the players, the manager and the majority of fans who just want to focus on what is going to be a very exciting season.
Time will tell what the whole story is. But my faith remains in the guys that have got us this far in so short a time.

He is bringing the club into disrepute and is guilty of gross misconduct. He must go with immediate effect.

I agree and said on the other thread that Airman must be held accoutable for his comments that have been proved to be incorrect due to the nature of the comments, do not under-estimate the impact those comments made, they were all over twitter i'm sure the fans would even have been taking these comments to the players who in turn may have relayed these back to the club.

I can understand if he had a genuine concern for the club and was able to at least explain/justify his bold statements but he cannot be allowed to make such a statement without any documented source or how he came about the info. I could understand if his concern was genuine and he could at least justify himself despite being wrong but to what he's done is unacceptable and must not be allowed to get away with it.

The only other problem I haveis with his loyal followers who come on here and brand us ostriches or whatever just because we chose not to believe those rumours.

Forgive my ignorance here boys, but i need a bit of clarification...
    1) I am well aware of who Airman Brown is.
    2) I was out of the country when all this blew up -so , was it that he said that Cash had pulled his money out and that the club was in the brown-stuff because of that?
    3) Whats his motive for saying said things?
    4) Sounds like there has been no recourse from the club.
    5) Anyone know where A2C is?I miss him.

Although he was a pain in the bum I admired his stamina to keep up the idiosyncratic style of his for so long. Many imitated him but no-one really captured the essence of A2C. I wonder if anyone on 'ere could achieve this?
