If the players think he's being picked for the wrong reasons, then he'll cause problems in the dressing room, if the fans think he's being picked for the wrong reasons, then they'll get grief from the stands. I don't think it's a situation that's good for the manager or the player and as a consequence and I think it was a poor decision by Bruce to put himself in this position, I suspect that it won't end well.
I agree completely with Scoots, however, I'll say no more on the subject now. He's a City player so discussing this can only do harm rather than good.

Although I don't see him been a regular with Faye on the books to partner Chester...could be a half decent squad player time will tell of course. IMO, this will probably turn out to be an irrelevant topic of discussion. He's probably only going to feature if injuries and suspensions take their toll on our defence. So we're hardly going to see the lad. Fair enough, the major worry is the dressing room. We don't want our players falling out and wanting to leave because they think Bruce has brought in his son to be a 'spy'. I reckon we have a dressing room full of honest lads of shouldn't think anything of it TBH. It's a strange one and like you said postmantwat, time will tell what the real outcome of his signing will be.
