Sounds worrying...but then would the trialists stick around if we weren't likely to sign them?

If you take the viewpoint that they all work for the Pozzos, perhaps they have no choice other than to stick around!

I agree that i worry about the keeper situation, but i am not worried about the defender situation not the midfield too much.

We have 3/4 CB's (tiny, nos, hall (maybe) and bennett) who all seem capable, as for the LB Pudil looks good, if Dicko does have a blip he will be able to step in i think.

Can't say I'm surprised about the Affleck tweet. No reason to doubt the truth of it.

Pretty sure Pudil will be picked ahead of Dickinson when the season starts.

We would all like to hear something from the club about what is happening, but there could be a very good reason for them staying tight-lipped. One of KA tweets several weeks ago suggested that the whole thing could end up with legal action. If that were to be so, pure speculation on my part, then people would not be able to speak even if they wanted to.

Yeates says he enjoys playing in central midfield...wonder if that is because the lack of pace doesn't matter and he is ok on the ball passing wise.

Me to, a Czech Republic international is more likely to be picked than Carl Dickinson (not saying he's bad though)
Abdi sounds very good and comfortable on the ball.

If Bas really was not paying the NI/PAYE/VAT to the taxman for the last few months, then he was more of a fool than I thought he was---and I did think he was a fool. That is really a tactic of last resort in a failing football club, one that has been tried by many clubs and in every case led to disaster. HMRC never let a club get away with it, and administration is inevitable if it gets out of hand. Bas must have been aware of the risks he was taking with the survival of the club. What a narrow escape if it is true. Hopefully the new owners will find the debt manageable, and will continue to invest in the club.By appointing Zola and sending players on loan they are signalling a serious intent. Can Bas derail it, even now?

One of the questions asked in the WO peice was about the Red Lion. It would appear that Neil and Josh Price no longer are involved in running the pub.

In answer to your question Roger about Bas derailing the process now, I cannot imagine for a moment that he can, but he might slow the whole thing down. If these payments to the revenue were not made, that would have broken the terms of the bonds and could have been the trigger that made LA and the other holders act.

The Wobby have two good cards at the moment. One, whenever Bassini wants to talk on the record, it's invariably to them. Two, whenever someone anti-Bassini is willing to give subtle hints and nudges off the record, they are the obvious port of call.

To report as a fact something with legal consequences would more or less kill off both of those sources of information, and a systematic failure to pay tax would definitely fall into that category. If Affleck's sources are accurate, I would expect one of the national media organisations to get to the bottom of this first, and the Wobby to say "Sky/the BBC/whoever are reporting that..."

If the interpretation of OFH is correct, then we owe Ashcroft yet another vote of thanks. He saved us from the Russo's, and saved us again by putting in more working capital in the form of the bonds when we needed it. Though he might be criticised for selling us on to a dodgy new owner, he did enough "due diligence" on Bas to put financial and board level safeguards in place, in case things went wrong. And now he has stepped in again to make possible the transition to a more credible new owner. Without his action, Bas was clearly in danger of driving the club into the ground. Ashcroft will never be popular with most fans. and will be reviled by some, but really it looks like the survival of the club over the last few difficult years is largely down to him.

When I first saw who our new sponsor was I thought it said SAGA! It made sense to me as we are in the news for almost any 'old' player at the moment :)

It is with SEGA! They own Sports Interactive who designed the Football Manager franchise (used to be Championship Manager).

Oops, sorry, just saw that you put SAGA! I get it now! Lol

I have short time with a computer to do emails. There is too much information coming which is complicated and needs studying. Sega is a big sponsor for the club and Lord Ashcroft is the good guy again. Where does Kevin Affleck get his information as he is right again even if we think he is making trouble.
