Don't think a manager signing his son is a sensible idea, but I trust with the likes of Chester, Faye, Dudgeon and also Hobbs to come back, Bruce junior will spend most of his time warming the bench.

He should be 6th choice CB based on what I've seen, but I reckon he'll be straight in if Chester or Faye get injured.
To put it straight, a ****ing useless decision and a ****ing **** player. You can probably tell I'm pretty annoyed as there are lots more better players out there. Maybe he's signed just do SB can see his grandchild and AB can go on a spree at Mamas and Papas. Hopefully he won't play.
I don't mind this as it frees up Cooper and Sonny to go out on loan somewhere and get first team experience! He's probably 4th choice CB anyway and when everyone is fully fit wont make the bench!
We needed defensive back-up - Alex Bruce is experienced at this level. Since Steve Bruce is manager, this may mean we got him relatively cheap, and he won't kick off so much if he isn't playing much. I think, given what we needed, it is a pretty good choice. Probably one of the best players we could have got for back-up, without them costing a bomb and/or being upset at us giving Cooper/Bradley a chance, and then certainly being out once Hobbs comes back. Just means we have an experienced option to fall back on should we have trouble in defence, that won't cause trouble if we don't need him.
Hopefully this will see Cooper and Bradley go out on loan. Once we signed Faye there was no chance them two where first choice, so why let them sit rotting in the reserves? Go send them out on loan and get first team football. Then bring Bruce in behind Faye, Chester and Hobbs, and let him pick up a tiny wage, whilst our two potential future starters get football. Not an awful decision when you think about it.
Well this proves mine and HCHKR's theory on the train home on Saturday... OLM is not best pleased. As for me, IF he wasn't the gaffer's son I'd be happy about this after Saturday's display. As he is... just hope he doesn't cause any distress.
Because with Chester, Hobbs and Faye he wont get a game so he needs first team football to develop further
