    Don't worry about it pal.

I have failed to see eye to eye with old Elmo in the past. Ironically because he / she thought I was being too optimistic....
I guess some people are always right regardless of their position & anyone who disagrees must be a moron.

Reminds me of someone but I can't put my finger on who....

Elmo does raise a fair point however....

What would it take for you to stop supporting your club...?

Cardiff changed their colours, Wimbledon changed their kit, name and town.

What would Leeds United have to do to make you say enough is enough....!

A few on here are failing to see the difference between backing the players and backing the regime.

And quotes from May 23rd when - since then - we have seen the onset of due diligence to buy out the current regime, and we have seen a large influx of players that was completely unexpected, allows some people who are big enough to be able to change their opinion on the outlook. <ok>

No longer is the coming season looking like a dead duck. It seriously looks like we have given ourselves the foundation to do something.

And that is why I am optimistic. And that is why I will back these players and the manager. Not because I "expect" promotion or "expect" the best players, but because I expect our team to be able to compete.

And this current team will be able to do that, and may just surprise us all and go further.

That gives me the opportunity to sit back and see the wood and the trees, and to see that those who remain negative are like that because, frankly, that must be just the type of people they are. And am I so glad I don't actually know any of these leeches of life.

They are unable to see the light and their expectations are clearly that we should be buying the best well-known players and paying the highest prices, rather than allowing the manager to build a team.

    That team is being built.

But we are still blighted by the anti-LUFC LUFC supporters like ristac. I suggest you read "Madness Explained" by Richard Bentall. And get yourself committed.

Thanks :) to be honest I enjoy debate and never really get annoyed with anyone apart from Boab n his bullshit lol

You can deffo sense frustration when things look glum but at the end of the day we are the only ones guaranteed to be here year in year out everything else is irrelevant so let's stick together :)

Fuck off you stupid cunt, I don't have to justify my support to you.

To say the least, LUFC is my one true love and I spend ****ing ages in my life fretting about it and hoping the best comes about.

You keep playing Three Little Birds over and over in your head and reminding yourself you're a superfan just because you believe this squad's gonna charge into the Premier League. I'll keep looking at the facts, forming and sharing my opinions, going to games and singing till my throat's sore and hoping rather than believing that we'll get the best.

Basically, you need to stop confusing A) bigging someone up on a forum, and B) supporting them during a match. I know which one I think constitutes proper support.

    Oooh. Rant. Nice.

Now you've got that out, maybe you could explain what the **** you are talking about.

I have certainly never said this is the squad to charge into the Premiership but your anti lufc player rants in previous threads doesn't suggest at all that you will be singing till your throat is sore unless you are singing against the team.

Maybe you should read the thread again especially my post just above

You may also benefit from a nice soothing cup of cocoa <ok>

    Not a rant, a counter-rant.

I just did explain what I was talking about. Explained how I support Leeds United.

You've certainly hinted at it, with your recent thread saying Warnock's got it 'shaping up nicely'.

See last paragraph of my previous post. I don't give a **** if it 'suggests' that to you. I've not been to a single Leeds match where I've not supported the players as long as they've done their best for Leeds.

I don't take kindly to people saying I'm 'anti LUFC' and not a Leeds fan. I have every right to tell you to go **** yourself. Maybe by trying to divide the fanbase on such crude lines, you're the one who's acting against the best interests of the club.

Once again, you use the tactics of Bates lovers, saying that those who don't have opinions in favour of the status quo aren't proper supporters. Very childish and foolhardy viewpoint to take.

Your post above outlines your reasons for believing we'll do well. Fine. I've outlined my reasons I believe we won't do well judging by the evidence up to this point. Let's discuss those reasons in a sensible way rather than chucking about these stupid, juvenile insults and making out like one camp are superfans and the rest are scum fans. Because that in itself is a huge case of double standards which only weakens the Leeds fanbase.

Don't be thick. I can tell you're not really.

I suggest you debate rather than call people "stupid ****" or in ristac's case "prick".

The interesting thing about 606 was the statement on the front Page about being opinionated. There are clearly those on here who can't handle that

    What a load of bollocks.

The fact I don't think the team is "shaping up nicely" doesn't mean I don't desperately hope they will get promoted.

Not thinking we'll do very well and not wanting us to are two very different things. I want the team to do well as much as anyone else on here, but it doesn't mean I'm going to lie about how I see the state of the squad or how I think things will pan out.

Ristac just because a player comes from a team lower than us does not make them worse, Beckford came from non league was he crap? We sold Snoddy cos he wanted to go not cos we wanted him to and if we've got 3 million for him then thats a good deal.
Clayton was not that good in my opinion, our midfield was run ragged a lot last year. Warnock has improved both the defence and midfield with good solid pros and if he can get in his crucial signings i don't see why we can't be up there having a go for promotion.
Elmo is right about one thing, vent anger and frustrations at Bates and the board not at NW and his signings. Bates and Co are the reason the club is in a mess. Warnock is doing his best at the moment with very little money,we are not gonna sign top quality with no funds.
Lets hope we get this investment sooner rather than later <ok>

    Kissa you're a big fooker aren't you :emoticon-0165-muscl.....defo a positive poster then <laugh>

Kissa <ok> I think we need to get the season underway and get focused on the football.

Beckford - His very impressive goal scoring record attracted a lot of attention from Football League sides and reportedly more than 30 clubs showed an interest in the prolific striker, with many sending scouts to watch him play for Wealdstone. He was 22 years old, you cannot compare signing him to those that have already been through their peak years. My point isn't about signing the best from a team lower, it is signing what I consider average players (apart from Pearce) from a team that got relegated.

We could have made Snoddy play out his contract, I believe other reports that Bates authorised the sale and that we will only receive his asset value of £750k but as I cannot prove this I will have to rest on the stated fact that is was £1.5 million up front.

I truly hope that you are right and that I am wrong but I don't share that same enthusiasm, I respect your opinion <ok>.

    I agree 100%

Tit for tat. We can either move on like I suggested, and actually discuss the factual points, or we can keep going all Max Mosley on this equine corpse, if you catch my drift.

And you're certainly leading by example in that regard. :)

As soon as we're opinionated, we're 'anti-LUFC' and not Leeds fans.

Cheer up, sleepy Jean. I know you've complained on here about being 'sexually frustrated' and your hubby's clearly not feeding you enough pork n mayo, but don't take it out on me, Simon and ristac, eh?

Agree with Jerel and a truce offered in this corner, life is too short to continue pointless arguments. Let's just agree to disagree on the current quality of the squad, at the end of the day we are BOTH LUFC supporters and we both want the same outcome.

Can anyone shed any light on whats holding up the announcement regarding the takeover - I read and heard rumours that Bates had cleared his desk the other week - I'm genuinely not on a wind up I thought you'd be bidding for high profile players and I see Snodgrass has gone - Then one of your posters said that its been announced that you won't be doing a Man City - Was that just to keep the price of any players you're after down?

    - Due diligence still ongoing.
    - It's Ramadan.
    - Bates/Harvey holding things up, trying to squeeze more money out by influencing sales like Snodgrass'.
    - New owners not wanting to get ripped off by announcing their identities and other clubs knowing how rich they are.

Take your pick. Possibly a mixture of them all.

I know the topic is tongue in cheek, but I've said this many times, the Leeds United I knew died in 2003, what we have now is a poor replica of the club I grew up with and who followed 100% for nearly 20 years. I guess my support for the club I knew ended in 2003 and what I have now is an interest in what has been left behind.
