Can't find a clip, but I think one photo shows Adam's intent:

Nowhere near the ball, clearly looking directly at Bale's ankle and bringing his studs down on it.

Charlie Adams is living proof that 1 or 2 decent seasons in the prem for an average club leads to some mug paying a fortune for you! Carroll is another. Henderson too. And I ain't just picking on pool ... look at us with Bentley! And to think that Comolli will get another job in football

I dont think they are all in the same category, Adam and Bentley for sure epitomise your point......Carroll can certainly be effective in the right setup....And Henderson has alot of time to come good, he has amazing technical ability and could end up as a very succesful international level CM.

Haven't saw the game or the incident but even Liverpool fans agree it was a bad tackle...............which makes me wonder why two teams from the same league would play each other in a friendly????

Any previous is going to be carried over & is less like a friendly which are designed to improve players fitness levels more than anything.

because there is no real rivalry between the 2 clubs....and that coinciding with the fact that it is a friendly should be enough for players to pull out of dangerous play...however if you are a nasty basterd then you carry that no matter where you go and regardless of the competitive level of the game..the nasty basterd will always be nasty.

My point is that these games should be about increasing players fitness levels - playing against players you are familiar with increases the risk of injury as it is less of a friendly.

Even as a Gooner, that looked appalling: Adam's a thug who should be disciplined for that. Sad thing is that he'll probably get off with no punishment, and it certainly looked like he was out to get him. To tackle like that in a friendly is bad enough, never mind that he's got previous. Bale can be a drama queen, but I honestly feel sorry for him tonight.

What I want to know is why Bale played on, given that it was a friendly?

And yes Adam is a disgrace.

I remember that tackle, it was on the left, he'd swapped wings from the right because he wasn't getting any joy and had just taken a huge dive.

Skrtel made a big challenge (he is a physical guy) and Bale imitated a torpedo in full flight, and ended up looking like a prat in the advertising hoardings. The whole stadium cheered because he was appalling that night... He scuffed a one on one straight after too, didn't he?

But yeh, everyone dives these days, sad really. Suarez isn't so bad for diving, what he's bad for is the theatrical rolling around afterwards. Like Bale he does get some shocking treatment though.

On the Gerrard tackle... all players commit professional fouls at some point. It's part of the game at the end of the day.

On Adam.. he's a tube. If he was fit enough, he wouldn't make so many poor tackles. If he was smart enough, he wouldn't have to. Would like to see the back of him to be honest.

I will repeat however that THIS below is the worst piece of play I've ever seen

EDIT: Also, no idea why two teams from the same league, especially two teams who want to finish in the same place (4th-5th) would play one another - surely it's bad for morale if you get thumped, and as a fan I'd rather we played a more interesting match against an MLS side or a much poorer side so our youngsters can get a goal or two.

In any physical contact sport that you may play, you quickly learn the difference between what is hard, but fair - what's an over excited, and mistimed challenge, and finally what's just bang out of order. Charlie Adam falls into the last category. His speciality is cheap shot thuggery. He doesn't mistime, or make an inadvisible challenge, he makes a calculated attempt to cause injury to another player. In this case, even worse, a fellow professional.
In my view, the "Charlie Adam's" of any sport should just be thrown out of the game. There's no room for that kind of behaviour. I know it won't happen because the sport is just corrupt now, with all the money involved. Any honest sport would quickly despatch the Adam's of the world to the bin, where they belong.

Two points.
1. Who's Charlie Adams?
2. Bale calls 'Charlie Adam' a coward.
