Indeed hopefully this break will make him focus for the last 9 races as I don't think Seb will be as kind with words as Lewis when compared to last year. Seb would of most likely told everyone where to stuff the apology and would of used every insult under the English sun. Btw anybody going to Spa this year?
After last year where everything went so right for him it must be a shock to the system for Vettel. Is he cracking, well he seemed all right in the car today. He's clearly annoyed at the moment but as long as that doesn't effect his driving it will have no effect other than making those who dislike him happy Its when it effects his driving he's in for it. Actually looking back at the shoulder barge with Webber it seemed more or less Marks fault as he was just trying to squeeze infront of Senna and by accident went into Seb.
Maldo has only scored 4 points outside of his 25 for his Barcelona win. I know he did get the win but I am surprised he has only scored 4 other points.
Kimi is a real contender for this championship if this Lotus upgrade works for the 2nd half of the season. They have the fastest race car and may have the fastest qualifying car come Spa. Don't rule him out.
I can't believe how close it is between Raikkonen and Hamilton. 10 races down and 1 point seperates the 2. 5 podiums each. Its not been a bad come back for the iceman And it looks like Lotus have joint best car atm.
Grosjean seemed quite miffed on the podium, actually more so than Kimi who was a bit more chirpy than usual chatting away to Hamilton. I think Romain was unimpressed with Kimi's move on him after the stops. Personally saw nothing wrong with it, just hard but fair racing between team mates
Think he was more dissapointed with his poor pace in the last stint compared to his team mate. He was nowhere near as quick as the leaders.
It'll be interesting to see how that upgrade works at Spa. Apparently it stalls at 150mph which means no rear downforce through Eau Rouge, Pouhon and Blanchimont. Similarly it will stall the rear through 130R in Japan. It should be useful in Monza, nut the teams run so little wing anyway it might not make a huge difference. I'm not sure how much of an effect it will have in qualifying either as they have unlimited DRS anyway.
Red Bull and Ferrari must be bringing their own DDRS to Spa surely! Lotus have looked to have gained from it already.
His attack on Hamilton at Valencia looks more and more costly. At this rate it will be his seat, not Senna's, under consideration.
Until they get a decent car, Maldonado's seat wont be threatened. I worked out today he's lost out on 47 points through brain or car failure. This was the first weekend all season that Senna has looked faster. Do I think it'll last? No. Senna just got a better start and that was his position settled, as overtaking was impossible.
Senna's got sponsorship too and I think you're being uncharitable saying it's the first time he's looked faster... it's the first weekend he's shown a performance approaching that of Maldonado in Barcelona, certainly, but Maldonado has been consistently inconsistent.
I think you're being a bit unfair on Senna, he drove a canny race, IMO. And it's at least the second time he's done it this season. As for Maldo, Today's and the incident with Pérez were racing incidents for me but Pastor has got himself a reputation now and it's mostly deserved. They have each proved they can perform but both Williams drivers need to deliver more consistently, simple as.
Not taking anything away from him, but i think on a track which you can overtake on, he'd probably have come around 8th/9th. I still think both drivers can do alot better than they currently are though. In my opinion, it's the best car after the top 4 teams and not that far off them either, especially in race trim it looks really good.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/101558 Raikkonen made good on that today. And with their version of DDRS coming in at Spa it will be very interesting to follow.
Well Senna can overtake too! For me, his on Pérez was the best of the few today. Presumably, on a track with more opportunities he would have overtaken more.
