Ok so now twitter seems to suggest, again, that both are off to Leeds for about £3 million. Well I thought Becks could have been our best goal threat this coming season but I'll guess that there's a method behind the madness! Oh and Hull fans, please don't spoil this. I don't need pages of nonsense!
Is Beckford Warnocks type of player? I wouldn't have thought so - Warnock, like Pearson likes his players to put a bit of a shift in and be sweating when they come off - I think we all know that isn't Beckford's style - He's deadly when the whole team is shaped up to play to his strengths but looks a bit of a passenger at all other times - Plus there is a big problem with the sort of money he's on at Leicester - It would ruin their dressing room if he got paid that much and would he take a massive pay cut?
As soon as we signed Jamie Vardy the writing was on the wall for Beckford Nugent, Vardy, Waghorn, Schlupp and Futacs will be the strikers, the only way Beckford will stay is if we cant find a buyer
Yes - A poster on the Leeds board suggested him in response to the same question - I would argue that he always played with passion - Beckford just gives the impression that he doesn't give a ****
Jermaine Beckford has been told he can look for another club, no bids for the former Leeds striker yet though #LCFC just be twittered by 4th official...
Is going because of his workrate and wage - must still be on Premiership wages. Hopefully this means that Schlupp isn't going out on loan now - always good having someone stupidly fast up front.
beckford has NEVER settled here..it was a last minute signing , I believe after a couple of days here, he knew he had made the wrong decision...his body language has been poor for a long time..his efforts look halfarsed..sorry..I will not second guess the manager on this..he works with the bloke everyday...Im really fed up with trying to justify beckford or his mindset...for me he will never reach his potential here...sad but true.
Let's get Hume back - he'll run all day and get us 3 or 4 goals all season and when we go down he'll **** off at the first opportunity- great move Nigel!
The thing is that Beckford, for large parts of last season, didn't deliver. He had his moments when he was very good but in terms of value for money and consistency and about the all-round attributes he brings to the side - you have to ask if he was good enough and the answer is no.
I still don't understand fans devotion to beckford, ability is useless he you don't apply it...his attitude is poor, why would ANY manager get rid of a top stiker and damage the club and his job if there wasn't a big problem with the bloke? BECKFORD DOES NOT WANT TO GIVE HIS ALL FOR THIS CLUB..LIVE WITH IT...
And how many more goals did our other strikers score? The problem last season was a **** midfield which hopefully has been addressed, I've said all along with the right service beckford will score 25+ goals. Looks like Leeds will probably benefit from that
He was never going to get a sniff at Everton so he had to move ... his first touch (or lack of) means he will always be found at in the Prem but, when properly 'up for it', he will score goals at this level ... but he needs to be 'the main man' and for us he just hasn't been ... don't buy that he has been ill so missing games ... looks like one of those 'worst kept secrets' and he's likely to move before the season begins ..
There were many problems last season (admittedly the midfield was a big one). For example, another problem was ball retention; not helped by the fact Beckford's first touch and his passing is atrocious for a player of his level. He's a player you must build your whole team around and who has to be the main man. Fact is here he's not the best striker in the team so that reduces his effectiveness.
The writing has been on the wall for Beckford for along time Pearson wasnt happy with his work rate or attitude when he first came in and after a few weeks Beckford improved that but it still wasnt good enough. Beckford then went on a scoring run and looked a decent player. He then had a spat with Nigel at Peterborough after Beckford ignored instructions from Nigel. Then at Leeds Beckford was sulking and when Waghorn scored Beckford looked genuinely disappointed. He got dragged off at half time and I have heard a few stories that they had another bust up after the game. Beckford was never going to be a Pearson type player though. The signing of Jamie Vardy made it clear Nigel intentions with Beckford its just weather we can manage to sell Beckford as his wages are too high for a player of his ability
