Anything offering 'cosy camping' really isnt in the spirit. The whole festival experience thing has become so middle class it's like a playground for lawyers who think they're being 'edgy' by attending. ****s.
I was just meaning the music, Crabby - didn't register the 'cosy'. I thought if it was in the spirit of Joe, it'd be a lotta people and big bonfire(s)....
Yeah I wasnt responding to you saying it would be good, I was more commeting on music festivals in general to be honest. I first went to Glasto in 94 and they amount it has changed in just that short time is mental. Hooray Henrys everwhere.
I go back a bit earlier - IoW in '69... My last was the 1st Latitude, so I know what you mean about middle class twats.
Like Joe himself I suppose..... My last one (outside Hull) was Futurama 79 at the Queens Hall in Leeds with Joy Division and PIL topping the bill on the Saturday night
I'd say its worth it just for the Justice Tonight Band who were excellent as support at the Stone Roses. Shame its not up north
There's no shame in being middle-class. It's odd how his career went in the 90s - maybe punk in the 70s was just what he needed to get his personal demons off his shoulder...... But his background was unusual and could never be the spokesman or symbol for a generation.
