I thought Arsene dismissed the whole Sahin story. I'd rather trust Arsene over some left wing vegie rag. Cazorla for 16 million would be the bargain of the century though. I'd be amazed if Malaga would sell him for below 20 million, when you consider how much they paid for him.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2180366/Arsenal-capture-15m-Santi-Carzola.html The Mail are saying it's a £15 Mil bid and says Wenger will 'deliver' him to us by Tuesday.
I really hope we can secure the services of Cazorla and Sahin, Wenger's game has always been built on strong attacking midfield and linking in wide players to the attack. It's my opinion that we still need a replacement for one of Fabregas or Nasri, although sigining Arteta last summer was a masterstroke (not the panic buy that was bleated at the time). Even one of these players linked with us would undoubtedly add a really good dynamic to our midfield
And the midfield situation was made worse by the injury to Rosicky (bloody euro's) and the fact that Wilshere has still not started training.
Whilst that clearly isn't good. It means that the club are definitely more likely to sign another MF player.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/incoming/southampton-bid-to-bring-theo-walcott-1180296#.UBRZjOOjOHA.twitter Worst rumour of the summer? It's a contender for sure.
Actually arsene also denied podolski and Arteta so I wouldn't take arsenes word for it. Also arsene didn't deny interest in Sahin bu stated they aren't close to signing any player.
The Cazorla deal, if true, will be concluded by tuesday. If malaga don't find some money by the 31st, they're finished.
If we do get Cazorla, RVP sure is going to look like a dick if he leaves. Podolski, Giroud, and Cazorla sure as hell don't show any lack of ambition or a misdirection in the club's priority. And as Wenger said, he's looking for 1-2 more players, so I'm assuming one of those would be Cazorla (or another midfielder he has in mind lest we fail in getting Cazorla) as well as another player, again hardly a show or sign of misdirection or lack of ambition. Plus not to forget, we have also signed our best centre back to a new long term contract, so that's good club direction, and if RVP did the right thing and signed a new contract as well, he would also prove the club are going in a very good direction with big ambitions due to the fact that they badly want to keep him. If there was any season for RVP to have truly complained about the clubs direction it would have been last summer when we let go of 2 very important players, but certainly not now when the club is showing good ambition to get big players to the club. We just signed the French league's top goal scorer, if that's not a sign of ambition for RVP (along with the other signings) then I'd like to know what the f--k he's actually looking for. These are signings that STRENGTHEN the team, a team who finished 3rd last year, so how further can we go now by new improved signings to the squad? What more do you need to see RVP? Maybe 250k a week in your back account eh, who actually doubts that if Arsenal tabled such an offer to RVP, that he would sign the contract by tomorrow. You can bet his agent would be all over it for him to sign, as a 250k a week contract would also meant a larger % payment for his nice little agent.
Sahin has NOT been named for the Real Madrid pre-season games, which is odd, if he isn't going to go out on loan. http://www.realmadrid.com/cs/Satell...ho_names_24-man_squad_for_the_Eusebio_Cup.htm BUT, I would think it made a lot more sense for him to be part of a deal for Modric, between Mourinho and AVB, than as a seperate thing with Arsenal.
RVP said it has never been about the money. Providing he would be paid as much as Rooney. RVP looks more and more stupid - any player paid 220K costs more than 30mln. So he prisdes himself out of the marked by being so greedy.
Been a massive development on that score. The Arab owners have sent over their 'troubleshooter' to conclude the settling of bills and what needs to be done, this is likely to be concluded, as you say, by midnight Tuesday, so expect Cazorla to be signed by then, but there's a different slant now. The owners of Malaga are in advanced discussions to SELL the club to an Albanian born oil magnate, Rezart Taci, he's a multi billionaire, and tried first to buy Bologna in Italy (as he's Italian based, despite his business being mainly in the Ukraine). It could either help, or hinder the deal, as maybe the new owner decides he wants to keep the star man, but from what you glean here, Santi no longer has any interest in staying. I hope you get him, as I'd love to see him in the Premier League, and it's not as if we have a shot!
I have no need to bullshit mate, it's all on Marca.com now anyway, in English. Good luck with it http://www.marca.com/en/football/spanish_football.html Not as detailed as the local press, but I can't be arsed to translate it all from Spanish!
Hope it is only a rumour. He is one of our best prospects and already established in the England under-21 side. Most Saints fns have been aware that this player is a terrific prospect for some while and the talk coming out of the club is that he is a better player than Gareth Bale was at the same age. Certainly, he will step up to the full England squad and his second half appearance at St Mary's on Saturday revealed a player of incredible maturity and attacking flair. He will give our current left back Danny Fox fierce competition for his place this season. Have to say that I am fed up with Wenger nicking our talent. Arsenal seem incapable of developing their own youngsters and given your manager's failure to bring on Walcott to the level Saints fans would have anticipated and a host of other English players, I think Shaw's career would stall at such a "Eurocentric club." Wenger has certainly had his part to play in the decline of our national team - he can't manage English players for his life.
