Wahey, Gerrard & Borini are on! Can't wait to see Borini in action. Finally we have a forward that isn't a reserve/youth team player up front.
And another batch of substitutions have been made by Liverpool... - Jay Spearing has come off and Lucas Leiva is on. Martin Skrtel has come off and Stephen Sama is on. Jose Enrique has come off and Jack Robinson is on. Jamie Carragher has come off and Danny Wilson is on. Jonjo Shelvey has come off and Steven Gerrard is on. Joe Cole has come off and Fabio Borini is on.
11 subs have been made. Only player not to play any part.... Andy Carroll. Make of that what you want
And one last change has been made by Liverpool... - Nathan Eccleston has come off and Andy Carroll is on.
Decent practice game....Lots on intricate passing...Some mistakes from both teams.....Little cutting edge upfront though.... Suarez and to a lessr extent pacheco and Sterling should add a bit of needed flair.... Think we edged the possession 2nd half Good positives from the tour involving some players, but shame we did not get a victory
Better second half. Sterling and Shelvey again looked good. Robinson looked good when he came on. Didn't see enough of Gerrard, Borini and Carroll. Thought Sama and Skrtel looked a good combo. Gulasci was fairly solid. All in all, not too bad. Still no goals, though, and that's my main concern. I'll still hold off the negativity until I see the first team proper in action.
Well that was a great advert for Premiership football!! Pretty even game all in all and I'm sure both coaches will say that it was a good work out. We (spurs) desperately need to sign a couple of strikers it's blatantly obvious!
i thought it was a dire match.....no cutting edge from either team...however i suspect both managers will have emphasised the need for doing the basics and feeling comfortable on the ball..the result is a secondary concern.....both teams are much stronger in reality.
That wasn't the most exciting game, was it? Anyway, another good workout for the team. Both teams made lots of changes, as expected, and both teams didn't have that cutting edge to take a chance that fell to them. Clean sheet though! Always looking for a positive me...
Have to agree with you Spurs boys: no cutting edge and a touch boring, at times. But still I suppose it's about seeing less played squad members and getting regulars up to speed. If so, job done. Europa qualifying for us next. If we don't play Carroll it may be a strong sign he's off to Newcastle, as if he plays for us he'll be cup-tied for the mags. Will be interesting to see.
