Chelsea fans, I understand the bemusement, the court of law should really have been the end of the matter (but that doesn't mean this is a totally destructive case). For what it's worth, I think the Suarez incident should have gone through that system too, because they are criminal offences. What I don't understand is the aggression towards Anton, like he's the only player who's ever wound another up about something in the paper? He apparently didn't even bring the charges about, just assisted with the investigation of the truth.

Unfortunately for Terry, what he's said has a different meaning to the rules of Football, than of the English legal system. If it stops other players from just barking this kind of thing out in future, well it's provided some good to the game, in my opinion. Really we all know you shouldn't be saying those things on a football pitch under the current climate (and really there's no need to ever say it), no matter what context (to be fair, I believe swearing and a variety of other language should be met with strict punishment on the pitch/fa boardroom, if racism is, but that is not the rules at present... so you can have no quibble if Anton is not charged under this climate).

Liverpool fans, I understand that you think the two are comparable, but in reality the context of the Suarez case was much more clear-cut to the FA. Terry's "sarcasm defence" is a very good argument indeed, because it's hard to disprove. Suarez denied the aggressive racist nature of it, but repeated it so often within such a short time-frame, it was more obviously racial aggression than anything else. I think it's you guys going on about it more than anyone else which keeps Suarez in the popular consciousness, otherwise everyone would probably forget in a few seasons if Luis kept his nose clean .

Obviously this will rumble on and on and on and on and on and on and on until you've all wasted your life pointlessly (though I'm sure the anger on not606 will translate to a successful petition of the non-ban Terry has so far ), but try and have nice weekend anyway one and all

 

I'm not talking about what he said about Terry but how he tries to belittle posters with his comments. In this case he is suggesting CFCTEL is stupid and doesn't understand simple English. He's a **** and does it all the time.

I'm not picking the bones out of a petty little argument, when I have already engaged on meaningful discussion elsewhere in the thread. You have to realise that a phrase such as 'equal to or larger than' means 'either or' - it is a broad opening statement.

I think your desire to argue over everything and anything on a football forum makes you look 'very silly', which I don't think is unreasonable.

I see the Spurs lads still have the noose ready for John Terry. I find the hypocrisy of some of their posters astonishing.
Apart from the usual rubbish, you know” He was found not guilty, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t do it”, pics of the KKK etc The one which made me smile was spurslock accusing CpofL of being a racist, but proudly displaying a picture of Ledley King with the strap line “a true legend....all hail the 'King'

It's a board for fans of all teams. I don't understand why that's so tough for you to comprehend but you've never come across as the brightest so I'll just leave it at that.

You could argue that the board is for the discussion of Chelsea related matters, not a board for Chelsea fans. Naturally, the board is mainly used by Chelsea fans but it should not be exclusively so.

I find people that hurl abuse at opposing fans so tiresome.

 

Seems to me that to be charged with abusive and/or insulting language, you would need to aim the abuse/ insult at someone, otherwise no one has been abused or insulted.
Terry has consistently argued, and a court ruled in his favour, that he did not do this.Anton has stated he never heard any insult.
What no one has ever appeared to ask is, why did Terry think that Anton had heard these words, in so far as he felt the need to repeat them to claim he had not said them in the first place?????
So who did say them ???

Any FA ban would probably be overturned following an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for
Sport.
There will only be one loser from this nonsense, the perpetual loser, the FA.
Zero intelligence, fairness or credibility.
PS, I absolutely revile John Terry the person, while admiring his football.
