Until we kick of at The Emirates and still only one signing in.

Among our motley crew we have panic, calm, still lots of time, yes but, we are missing out, we did not want them, trust MON, I do trust him but, we lost at Hartlepool, Hartlepool does not matter, and on and on and on.

Me, I am all of those depending on the time of day you ask me, after all these years, managers, divisions, owners, ground moves, hope, fear, confidence, why always us and delusion you would think I would be used to it.

When I put my grown up sensible head on, shocked, well I do have a sensible head, when its on I ask myself, why do I spend money I cant afford to get a seat in a Stadium that can freeze my bollocks off to watch a group of players who can give me the impression I care about them more than they care about me, why do it.

Well, its because I care, if I did not care then signings or lack of them would not matter, results would not matter, football would not matter, why it matters I have no idea but it does.

My comfort is I am not alone, all of you daft buggers are just as daft, it matters just as much so thank god for that.

My late mother used to tell me relationships are built on trust and I do trust Martin O'Neill and so should every Sunderland fan out there, our relationship with the manager is vitally important. I do believe we'll get the players we're after in time for the start of our campaign no matter how much/little they cost. KTF

i trust him too, but, and it's a big "BUT" i trusted him to get a striker in january even if it was a short deal to get us to the end of the season......

he didnt manage it that time "but" i hope he gets his man this time around.

I think the underlying problem is that ES has stated he want's ambition and a top ten finish, which to most fans should or could mean a decent team/squad to achieve that.

Can we do it with the current squad, I doubt it.

Is it just a lack of available players, lack of funds, lack of confidence in buying players, lack of ambition from the club or a lack of balls to take a gamble on a player? Not sure which myself but, am firmly in the no panic (yet) camp and, the trust MON with any dealings. Last night should have been the wake up call not only for MON but, the players as well.
