The initial begining was piss pour and so glad they gave the scots and the Welsh a min spot with kids singing ,at least we could have seen the welsh kids sing in their own language ?

To me its all about the teams walking the stadium and thats the best part ,what you think of my "No need for team GB " thread Swamp ,after seeing all those small nations im sure us welsh could show them something and lets walk out behind our own flag and in our own red aand green kit ...........

All your answers were to questions I never asked John, it's actually quite unbelievable how you manage to make up things that aren't there. I asked you would you rather watch a team with 70k attendance in league 2 or 5k attendance in the prem. No mention of local teams With lower crowds or prem teams with higher crowds, you've got it totally wrong mate.
Then I asked you are Coventry and Sheffield bigger clubs than you because they have bigger stadiums. You've clearly answered that you believe you are because you get the bigger crowds. If that's the case then perhaps you should start looking at a stat that matters, percentage number of people in a stadium compared to its capacity. This would show that we are the higher attraction as we fill our stadium week in week out, you operate at around 82% perhaps?
Couldn't care less what people vote, I currently live down the marina and i love living here. Very nice indeed.

And finally yes, I was enjoying until the teams all started walking in, but of bore from there on <ok>

So your suggesting that if lets say Northamton Town fill their stadium off 12000 and Cardiff get a average 22000 out of 26000 then Northamton Town are the higger attraction?

Dont think you have the jist yet m8 as all ive implied is that Cardiff City will always be the biggest club in Wales ,most agree .

As for the vote about swansea it was not my doing but a poll by local people about their town and i do belive the marina is inclueded in that but if you enjoy it thats fine not my prob .

Now then see we have a different view towards the olympics as well ,i thought the first part with Mary Poppings flyingaround and kids jumping on beds was pathetic but glad they gave us Welsh and the scots at least ONE MIN of singing ,lol .

To me the teams walking out was the whole point as get to see the teams and the flags ect ect ;O)

Put it this way John, 35000 people have applied for season tickets down the liberty this season. That would max out your stadium AND and Northampton stadium put together - 3000 allowing for away fans of course. And that's just season tickets, never mind the general public tickets. High demand you see, something that your stadium is lacking right now, so yes, of course were the bigger team. The fact that we have just signed the highest scoring midfielder in la liga confirms this :D (according to reports that is but I always though of ronaldo and messi as midfielders, apparently not).

As for the poll, it doesn't surprise me, there's a lot of unemployment at the moment around Swansea, I can't imagine people being to happy with their lifestyles right now.

Ahh it's all a matter of opinions I suppose, I liked the way it showed how we have progressed through the ages as a nation and then how the music has changed over the decades. Was all just a bit of fun really. And yes, did enjoy seeing the teams in their colours, just a little long winded is all.

swan-m ,i can see where your coming from but where were all those"supporters" lets say 3 seasons ago when you were struggling and even thro admin?

Ok ok you have increased your crowd from an average 12000 to as you say 35000 wanting season tickets .........................now think if that was Cardiff City in that position the possabilitys are endless .

Can i ask where those invisible xtra 20000 fans have come from and where they been hiding?

Brilliant end to the opening with that flame but 3hrs plus was a bit much agree ;O)
Did not your chairman also make a public anouncement not to wear any other football tops at home games other than your own as a load were spotted on TV ......

We could say the same to you, 10 years ago you were in the bottom tier with around 5-6k fans, so we're we. Success always attracts larger crowds. Does that mean that when you sell out for a match that you currently have 20000 plastics there considering who was turning up only 10 years ago?
If it wasn't for these fans who only turn up when the teams are doing well neither club would be half as successful, with your previous money troubles you may not even exist anymore.
But I'll always welcome the 'newer' fans (don't like to call them plastics) as what may start out as just wanting to watch either our team play at a better standard of quality or even the opposition, more than not turns out with them developing an attachment with the club which then seeths through to their children.
As for the opposition tops in the stadium, one guy wore a manu top in the home end when we were playing them down here, he was asked to leave and the chairman released a statement warning fans. Was nothing in it really, just one idiot.

We have a great history of massive crowds tho Swan-m ,still hold the record for a night game of 50,000+ in the seventys i belive and that was not in the top div .

As you might know im a student down swansea and i hear people in the town and bars asking who the swans are playing next and if its a top team they will say they are going ,not to watrch the home side but????.

Most people agree that if we were in the same position Cardiff would most def get the most support ,another interesting question is why is it that the fans that support Wales home and away are about 65% from Cardiff even Wrexham have a very good following for Wales but swansea is a no no .

In that case, where did them 50000 fans go 10 years ago? Were 45000 of them suddenly unable to attend games for a number of seasons? Like I said, success breeds support. And if you were in our position I think most would expect you to get a higher crowd than us, you do have a much larger population than us after all. But that right now isn't the case. As things stand right now, Swansea is in higher demand than Cardiff.
As for people asking that, I can make an educated guess here that you are talking about the vast minority. All the pubs I know of that show the games are always full no matter who the opposition. I can't imagine them flocking to the bar to go watch the likes of wolves or qpr, so they are obviously there to watch us.
International games mainly depend on where the venue is. If its in Cardiff, expect the majority there to be from Cardiff. When it was held in Swansea, the majority were from Swansea, it's simple demographs.

Pont why have you moved this here? I was having a sensible debate with JH. If you move every thread that has name calling in it to the wum bin then there's is not gonna be any threads left. Give it a chance to pick back up first, it was after all only like the last 3 or 4 comments.

I moved it because it's not football related, and is decending into insults.

It's not like I've deleted it or anything. Feel free to continue your debate.

What me and JH were talking about was football, moving it here just gives the wums a greater chance of ruining it. Fair enough it was descending, but at least give it a chance to pick up before you chuck it. <ok>
