HARGREAVES?! Take the case, wrap it up in duct tape, encase it in cement, then bury it 50ft down. That's how closed the case is.

With the potential addition of Hargreaves along with the others QPR cannot really say they are buying quality. Hargreaves is certainly a player you can call past it. He will be paid too much to sit in the treatment room.

Maybe they were just looking for a friend for Dyer?

I'd agree with that, you only need to get 5% of your 'captive' catchment as regular match goers to easily fill a 50,000 seat stadium. You have had 3 consecutive seasons of spectacular success, you are playing in the richest and most popular club league in the world, your players, though not household names beyond Norfolk, are obviously popular with you.
So, the fans are there, the 'product' is good and I'm assuming that you have plans to significantly expand your 27k
capacity, or build a new stadium - is that on the cards? If not, it is a good example of the difference between our clubs - you are proud of your 'financial safety first' approach built on controlling operating expenses. We have a brand building, market expansion approach which is about growth. Both strategies have their upsides and downsides, but I still don't understand why our approach winds so many of you up so much - what do you care if we go bust?

I agree with everything you've said, apart from about us caringg about QPR's policy. We really don't, beyond normal football rivalry. The trouble is we've had a lot of chat, not just from QPR fans, more irritating is the national media. We have to put up with a constant belittling of our policy and signings, despite absolutely all evidence so far being to the contrary. I tgink a lot of Norwich fans find it very frustrated being written off, told our players are crap and that we're punching above our weight because we don't make big name signings, when with the current team we've got, most of us really don't think we are. So in the circumstances, when we get QPR fans giving us stick it's not surprising you get that reaction. Especially to the laughable suggestion that any of us would be jealous. I could understand you levelling that at the likes of West Ham or other big spenders who you've demonstrated you're a level above financially, but not at us when it's quite lcear we're not really competing there <ok>

Thanks for the reasoned response. I think the fact that you have beaten us too regularly for our comfort and the history with Fernandes may also add a bit of fuel. There is a fair bit of ignorance shown by certain posters on both sides. For what it's worth, the longer you stay up, the more likely you are to go for a more expansive financial approach - that £40m + a season ( even more when the new deal kicks in) mounts up quickly. Stoke started frugal but are now spending on players without much angst.
Are you planning to expand Carrow Road? I guess that you sold out season tickets very quickly.

There is a long waiting list for ST's, the plan for expansion is, if we stay up at the end of this coming season, we're looking to increase Carrow Road to 35,000 seats!

    <ok>

Personally I hope you go bust.Following the Man City strategy of trying to buy success with a big cheque book underlines all that is wrong with modern sport and life in general. It's a "Devil take the hindmost" strategy that will probably see the demise of Portsmouth. The more clubs that play this game the worse it,and football, will get.

At least you are honest, although I recall you are the cretin who thinks its funny to display his/her ignorance about London in stupid posts. Bet Cruyff would be delighted to have a dick like you stealing his name.
You are definitely in the best place to avoid all of the things you feel are wrong with 'modern life in general'. Long may you stay there.

These digs at QPR and vice versa are getting very boring.

QPR have more money (whether its from an owner or earnt is irrelevant) and are spending on players they want who Hughes (a very good manager) thinks will keep them in the league.

Norwich have limited funds and as last season (very successfully) are searching the lower leagues for young British talent with a new manager (with a very good track record) to keep us up again.

What really is the problem here? Good luck QPR...apart from against us ;-)

I'm sorry you took it that way.I suppose it was a bit like the wag who tweeted about blowing up an airport and the humourless oiks took it seriously.I remember London back in the 60's and it's history is great. It's just that of late the place has come to represent everything bad in the modern world. And yes,I do prefer East Anglia.I live in Suffolk but Norfolk is a far nicer county. We will just have to put up with our little football club.

    Hull fan in peace here.

Now I think QPR and Norwich will survive but Swansea will go TBH. Qpr have made a few very good signings over the course of this window as have Norwich but Swansea havent done much buisness and will also have to adapt to a new style of play and as a result they will go down

I don't doubt these players will keep QPR up but it's not like these players are a long term solution, and they will have to rebuild.

If they consolidate this season and add a few more younger players, little by little they could become a good side, top 10 consistently.

However, it's a risky plan should it backfire but you have to take risks in order to fulfil the ambitions they have.
