yeah, a sunderland reserve who was on the verge of the england squad two years ago. any news on heskey yet? oh yeah, you can't afford him!
What is the issue with Morro what does this guy have to do, utter rubbish mr Morrison , mr Vaughan , mr Jackson and maybe mr Martin will be more than enough to give Holty a hand as will Pilks, Benno Howson , Hoolahops and Snoddy from mid field and apparently Turner will give him a hand from corners OTBC
Totally agree - people have very short memories and I know for a fact that Moro scored the winner against WBA, QPR and a fantastic equaliser at the Emirates and fans still don't appreciate the player. IMO, we DON'T need any more strikers (and I've said so on other posts); let's go with what we've got and look again in the January window.
I'll bite too............. There you go again, displaying your incredible lack of footballing knowledge. You hold a masters degree in this by any chance?
We had no problems scoring goals last season and I see no reas for that not to continue this year. Also, hoping that Vaughan can stay fit we will already be stronger up front than last year. Adding to that Jackson has now had a better taste of it and Morison is quite capable when in the mood (keeping him in the mood is the key) I think we are ok. Extra options are always welcome but for me it is not the priority. DM and LB are more important. Actually, I would be reasonably happy with the squad we have kicking off against Fulham.
really pleased with this addition, an experienced, imposing centre half, just what we were lacking last season. and at 6'4" not going to be too shoddy at attacking set plays.
I thought he played 29 games, sure I saw that somewhere. He is EXACTLY the type of centre half we needed and is a better option overall than Curtis Davies IMO. I think Bennett will thrive next to him. It gives Bennett the option to attack the ball and Turner to read the game behind him. I think this is actually a coup.
Quite agree that we are in a much stronger position than at the beginning of the season than last year - especially in defence. Whilst I concede that it may be a good option to sign someone to 'give Holty a hand', IMO that would take a large slice of what's left in the transfer kitty and I would (and so would the majority of posters on here), prefer to see that money spent on strengthening the defence - especially in midfield. Also, Holty is on record as saying he's fully fit, which he wasn't at the start of last season - and he's lost weight again!!!! I would say that Turner is a much better proposition than Davies, as he has played the last few seasons in the Prem and cost less than half the money being touted for Davies.
