I don't get the Supporters Trust stuff? Our loss to June 2011 was over £6m so if the Supporters Trust were to replace the shareholder(s) who left (20% shareholding) that would have been £1.2m they would have to find....where's the ST going to find that sort of money and the Club would need that sort of financial support every year! To find that sort of money and assuming the ST can get 5,000 members then the annual subscription to the ST would be £240 (almost the cost of a season ticket). If the club wanted to buy say Baldock then the transfer fee (£1.5m) over say three years @20% shareholding would be £20 additional per annum or £60 additional if Wets wanted all the money up front. For a club our size I just can't see the math working for a Supporters Trust. Unless one of us is secretly a Saudi billionaire? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Saudi_billionaires Does anybody actually need $19.4billion in the bank? Wouldn't owning Charlton be better?
Airman brown is so full of crap and self promotion. He is not to be trusted and perhaps one of the reasons why the wedge exist between cafc board and the fans. Historically, he has taken credit for things he has never done. I've never liked or trusted him. He and the other flying monkeys are really starting to show their true colours. Club first.
Agree. The few who dare question him get jumped on by several posters who seem to put him on a pedestal. He should be made to explain his post. The fact a club employee came out and posted what he did caused mass hysteria - how professional. I think the guy should resign. He is nothing but a disgrace in my eyes. The damage he has caused with his posts in recent years echo my sentiment. Walk away whilst you are still highly regarded by fans.
No chance of that Mary...this is what he posted at 12.08 this morning It seems he thinks he did nothing wrong in posting Company confidential information on a fans forum!
OK, CL (well PragueAddick) is saying that SK is at home watching telly and will NOT return to Charlton as an employee, he will spend his resignation period at home. I did say when he was appointed that an Accountant was not the sort of person to be CEO, Accountants are just not MD/CEO material (and I'm a Finance Director myself). We tend to look at the financial picture of a business and can overlook the bigger picture, it's just in our training! I'm sure the Club will give us further details when we need to know them. Prothero joins and SK leaves... I'm reasonably sure these two events are linked?
My main gripe is the post about being concerned that we potentially might not have a team or manager before the start of the season. That did nothing except provoke a mass reaction of concern. But those around him daren't question what he said - instead tell us that becuase he is employed by the club it must be correct. He has done more damage than good in recent weeks (and I'll argue years till I'm blue in the face).
"He is not the messiah, he is a very naughty boy" My god I'm expecting to see him on a cross on shooters hill. If he needs any help in banging in the last nail, I can be there in 15 minutes.
Super. Believe me. He has dined out enough on cafc and has taken them for every freebie/handout/made up job on offer. Now the new board want fresh faces and the lunches have to stop and what does he do? Create panic and spread libellous gossip as a show of his strength. He should be very ashamed of himself right now, but somehow I think not.
15 minutes from Datford to Shooters Hill at 7:45 on a monday morning during the Olympics????? I think not
I agree, the mass hysteria this created was unreal, I couldn't even go on twitter without seeing concern from a LOT of our fans believing something from nothing, I follow over 200 Charlton fans and believe me rumours like this spread like wildfire when it reaches Twitter. I think Airman Brown needs to be accountable for his comments made on CL. I agree it sounds like the party's over for him, new board, new regime, new ideas etc and he probably now finds himself like a spare at a wedding. People making recent racist tweets have been made accountable for comments they believed they could make by hiding on twitter and frankly i'm sure if the board were made aware of these comments by Airman Brown and his loyal worshipers scaremongering that they could also be made to be accountable for comments made on the cosy haven of CL.
I can't wait for the new season to start. We have a great manager who is in the process of rebuilding our great club. We have some terrific players who can easily step up to the next level. We will be signing a few new players over the coming weeks, and the pre-season is shaping up nicely. The rest is all bollocks. COYR!
That;s it these people hide behind the mantle of free speech to post any old tripe as they know they can get away with it. They then exaggerate and whip up histeria over any developments they come across because they are not part of the board and have no right to be on it. If you have the long term interest of the club at heart then you support the progress that was made last season rather than undermine it, they are incapable of doing either.
