The bit with the floating olympic rings was awesome. And Rowan Atkinson was hilarious. Flag parade taking a while though <laugh>

<laugh> My thoughts EXACTLY. The opening show was impressive, Rowan added some humour and now I've left the family watching the boring bit where the athletes walk in so I can come back on the Toon board.

Might be hoping it'll pick some scaps up from the ground and save him having to buy it some food.

Nice touch with all the 200+ nations' torches coming together as one Olympic flame. Or am I just getting sentimental in my old age?

That depends on how you answer the following question?

What did you make of Sir Paul McCartney's performance.

Err, that depends. Do you mean:

    a) The British musical legend that is Sir Paul McCartney, member of the infamous Beatles, singer, songwriter and all round good bloke
    or
    b) The old has-been, money grabbing Scouser

    ?????

Queen looked bored when the athletes came in, could have gave them a wave and a smile.
I did think it was a great opening Ceremony.

I must admit Lady E, I was shocked she looked so sour at times, probably would have preferred to view from home! :emoticon-0112-wonde:

One is not used to one sitting watching common vulgar sweaty sports people. One would rather watch at home with ones Corgi's on ones lap.
