http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...lsea-over-his-200000-a-week-wage-demands.html "City have made it clear to Hazard and his advisers that they will not meet his salary demands, which are understood to be around £200,000 a week. Instead they are prepared to offer around £110,000 a week." "And while United’s interest in Hazard remains, the Old Trafford club are also understood to be unwilling to consider the player’s financial requirements. United have distanced themselves from a hoax website which carried a statement claiming that a deal had been struck with Lille for Hazard." Telegraph reliable enough? Or do we need a sworn statement from Hazard written in his own blood?
Precisely In my opinion, he looked at where he'd be played most. At Chelsea he's going to be star man, at United he'd be rotated with Valencia and Nani, similar situation at City with Nasri and Silva.
No doubt that played a factor, but all the noises the media and his agent made were that Chelsea were the only club willing to meet his demands of £100k net a week. So I personally very much doubt Utd or City offered that much - he was probably resigned to having to take less when Chelsea swooped in on the deal.
Wages come into factor in every single transfer on the planet, but suggesting he chose Chelsea PURELY because we offered more than you lot is ludicrous.
Mata Oscar Hazard Torres Is some strike force, add a right back like Debuchy and thats one hell of a squad.
It looks impressive, provided Mata and Hazard are willing to be shunted out to the wings to accommodate the junior player in the number 10 role. Like Drogs said, Hazard probably chose Chelsea cos he reckons he has more chance of playing in his preferred central role there, and he may not be happy if he's passed over for someone with only six caps... It might, but the fact Romeu admitted he'd move back to Barca in a second and Lukaku wants to go on loan would probably discourage him if anything. Got a quote anywhere, or are you his best mate now he's joined Chelsea?
Thinking that wages isn't the biggest factor in a players move is ludicrous. Do you think if Machester United offered more per week than your club that he would still have signed for your lot?
Did you not read what I said? I said wages are a FACTOR. There were 3 clubs in for him, all likely to win trophies, all offering large wage packets. If you're too naive to believe United offered him low wages then that's your problem.
Standard throw out the insult, if your to "naive" to believe the main reason he is at chelsea is because you offered the most money then thats your problem
Where did I insult you? Also, that's not what I believe In fact it's quite the opposite, the whole point of this thread .
