    Hi All

Firstly, I am delighted we have finally signed Snodgrass although I would have preferred a 4 year deal for some of our younger players as I feel this gives us more stability at the club and stops renegotiation on contracts quite so often. Anyway, thats my view but overall I am delighted.

The main aim of this post is to try and quantify the amount of money we have paid out for the transfers and the wages for the players we have acquired. It was rumoured that Snodgrass turned down 15k a week at Leeds so I am assuming we are paying more but i would be surprised if it was above 20k.

Feel free to post what fees you believe we have spent and any breakdowns that anyone is aware of whther that be upfront of addons. I suppose the natural progression for this thread is to have a stab at the remaining funds and maybe what you would spend that on.

just a quick point about his contract and indeed all the clubs contracts, the club always add a 1-year option to any deal (as far as i know), so effectively he's on a four year deal if the club wish to keep him that long.

i think he'll be one of the top earners, somewhere around the £20k a week mark, as will turner if he arrives. it seems the deal was £1.5m with a further £1.5m guaranteed in add ons plus a few little extras too. so i'd estimate we've spent (assuming turner comes for £1.5m) £5.5m in fees this summer, leaving us with probably a similar amount left, maybe slightly more to spend either now and/or in january.

I didnt realise that the extra year was astructured for most deals so thats useful to know. Interesting on you view on the transfer breakdown of the Snodgrass deal, I believed we were paying more upfront, something like £2.5m. Paying less out immediately seems like better business though. Any idea on how much Compensation we agreed for Butterfield?

I am looking forward to seeing Turner in the team (Once its all finalised) I think his PL experience will be really useful and i can see a centre half pairing of him and R.Bennett being a good combination.

If we have somewhere around £5m left after getting Turner, where would you want it spent? Not surewhat the asking price was for Naughton but we cant be too far off affording him? I have no idea what wages he would be on though. Its fruistrating to think teams like Spurs can hand out 30k a week deals which stops players who arent playing first team football moving to another premier league team. I mean god only know what it must be like ONLY earning 15k-20k a week!

butterfield was never confirmed but it was announced by barnsley journos that it was around £1m. the snodgrass deal was broken down by leeds journos, who interestingly also said that villa had tried to sign snodgrass too but that he wanted to come to norwich to be reunited with johnson and howson - not sure if thats true but that would be a nice thing to have happened, getting one over lambert.

personally, i think naughton is a no-go on a permanent - i'm desperately hoping we can get him on loan again. i think we should spend some of the money on a defensive midfielder but the rest should be saved for january where we may or may not need to invest once more. no point spending it for the sake of spending!

I totally agree with you on Naughton, he would be great to have on loan again as he can cover in both full back positions. I guess loaning him in would save the money to spend on a DM.

I think we could do with bringing someone in upfront. I know a lot of people think we have enough to stay up and I think we may have too, but I think we need to be trying to improve. I think Jackson is a great backup and a different option, Holt is, well Holt, but I am not convinced Vaughan will ever be injury free for long enough for us to benefit from having him. I have missed out Chris Martin as I think we should look at moving him on and getting some money for him. I would still like to see Pilks tried upfront as he seems to have a really good eye for goal. I am not sure what options are available for strikers or a DM if I am honest.

I personally think we should look at moving on Crofts and Martin.

the issue with trying to get a striker is that they have to be an improvement on what we already have. they don't come cheap - we're talking £7m + in all likelihood, so its out of the question, especially as a new striker isn't really required. it might be the case in january that we've struggled to score goals and need to invest, hence keeping some money back for that but to buy a striker now, unless the right one becomes available now at the right price, is a luxury we can't afford.

i doubt spurs will let naughton go out in the first half of the season, i'm not sure how serious it is but kyle walker picked up an injury in a pre-season game.

Its pointless to quantify because we don't have reliable figures

All I know is we have a bit left lol

naughton came on as a sub the other day for walker, but it might have been a swap.
