Do you think it will be the year sterling breaks through. I certainly think he deserves it. I was always gutted we missed out on him. I think if you guys play your cards well you never know, what might happen though I feel you could do with another winger, striker and left back for depth purposes while Dempsey seems destined for you. Team right now looks promising too

    Reina
    Kelly skrtel agger Johnson
    Gerard Lucas Allen/aquilani
    Sterling borini Suarez

It looks good, but I'm cautious.

I'd like to see Sterling either go on loan or play in the Europa League. He's got the skills but the end product is what matters, and that'll take time.

    whats a breakthrough? 10 games... 15... 20?

We've carroll (so far) bornini, suarez, cole and downing. plus a few others who could play in that 433.. I expect he might play a few but mainly early europa.

we need to get him through. the question is did rodgers actually mention loan or did the press make it up and then will he back the lad.

He needs easing in. Sticking him could seriously risk injuries (now and in years to come). He could struggle with the pressure, crumbling, or gain an unwanted ego, leading to discipline issues. He also needs to get used English football, especially the physicality. Sterling is the type of player PL defenders like to knock around. He also needs to become fit enough to play 38-70 games a season.

Rogers did mention a loan. It was on the official site. But it was only a brief comment, not a whole article like the press made.

    indeed.

I agree on pacheco btw, he seems to be trying at least.

It'll be interesting to see what rodgers does as for that left side role up front he could have cole, downing, sterling and pacheco.... on the right side he could have cole, suso, suarez, borini or sterling also.

It'll be interesting to see who misses out or gets sold or makes it as the season progresses... or indeed if another player is signed.

Me too, I'd probably say to play Pacheco more than Sterling, Sterling's a lot younger and Pacheco has had more experience. This is of course he decide to leave or we decide to sell him <ok>

Pacheco is answering questions over him....Looking good in attack and making the right decisions and then sprinting back to get in the correct position in defence to.........I think the rumours of Sterling loan were born out of Pachecos effort and desire to succeed with us........

Could be Downing/Pacheco this year, and loan out Sterling...Then sell Downing next year and have Sterling and Pacheco.....It might be too much to put Sterling and Pacheco ahead of Downing this year on the left considering Downings experience....and his final ball which is the aspect that the young guns can certainly still improve

well..... ok so in the back of my mind here is it is only two games and it is only half paced half games at that.... having said that pacheco has indeed looked one of the more impressive guys at this early point in our season.

I have to say if its not too late for pacheco then surely downing deserves a chance to show what he can do? (i even say that after his last disgusting performance in the fa cup final which was so inhibited and negative)

At this point though the best thing to say is that us is great. pacheco cost given our lack of funds and careful "self sustaining" model any one coming back and surprising is great when he cost 500k only in the first place. LFC BADLY need 3/4 kids injecting ther quality so i HOPE sterling, suso, coates, henderson, shelvey, robsinson, wisdom, kelly and even pacheco have huge seasons for us and show these highly paid guys like cole/aquilani how to go do it.

I'm still really undecided over our front 3, Sterling will play this season but not every week. Pacheco has looked good so far and so has Cole and Aquilani. We can't play them all so who moves on?

I still hope we see another attacking signing to be honest, there must be one, surely.
