I'd have no problem with you for having differing opinions if you actually had opinions, rather than ones you back up on immediately as you realise you've put no thought into it
Anyway moving back to the OP... A CB is a much more needed position now as there is only three recognised CBs in Hooiveld, Fonte and Seabourne; and the last two I can't see being 'solid' next season...
Don't know if the price of Dann has scared us off or if our bid of around £3.5M would be accepted but I haven't seen us linked with any other defenders. Has anyone else?
Seaborne is no way good enough for The Championship, let along The Premiership - the thought of him up against Tevez and co. fills me with as much hope as if we had Forecast in goal
Before we got Gazza and Clyne in Adkins said he was looking to get one or two CB's and one or two GK's, not sure he mentioned RM....but I would expect it to be a position that we are looking to improve. So probably a maximum of 4 more players (coincidentally the number of spaces left in the named squad).
I think Seaborne is unfortunate because he missed an entire season where he could have stepped up a level. That injury put back his development, and really he is completely out of sync with the rest of the squad, in terms of proven quality. FWIW, I think he would have cut it, but you can't go on thoughts alone. There must be proof. I think he'll be back up and feature in cup games only. If he progresses, Adkins and Cortese may keep him, but I suspect his opportunity may have passed him by. Cruel, but there it is, IMO only, of course.
I'll be surprised if Seabourne is part of the 25 man squad. I reckon we'll buy a CB from abroad and maybe a younger English player
