Haven't you heard of "island time", Frenchie? The weekend begins the day before the last one finishes.
Evening all! Update from Ireland! (btw, thanks for all the caramel latte Ak, they're going down a treat!) The car is still not back, apparently (not sure if i mentioned this) it needs not only a clutch, but a flywheel as well...that's 1600 Euros apparently...Mr H is very very not happy! Along with the car hire, i'm beginning to wish we'd flown, or at least brought my teensy micra, which already has a new clutch! Ah well, it's only money, right? We had a great day today, i drove for what probably became a solid 7 and a half hours, (because i'm the only one who can drive the hire car)...it was almost 9 hours, with a couple of stops! We drove from Cork, around the Ring of Kerry and back again. It's beautiful. For those of you who are my friend on FB, all the pics are there (including Little miss H with Iwelumo, Almunia, Dicko, Doyley, Zola and Itchy (whose name i keep forgetting!) Iketchi? lol...anyway, him!) It's just a shame the weather is so gloomy, even more so because it's so gorgeous at home and i really miss having a summer..it's a bit gutting, but hopefully it'll still be nice when we get back on Sunday night/Monday morning. haha! Watch out! There'll be no stopping me now! I thought he was Spanish! lol Not yet, hopefully tomorrow, thanks Dan Was good to see you, all but briefly w_y
Morning all, 28C at the moment with 36C expected this afternoon. Of course this will have it's downside as storms will appear before too long, but it should save me having to do the watering. Just been watching the Goldfinches getting the seeds from the corn flowers that have gone over. Almost look like Watford colours. Think I will leave the coffee alone this morning and go for a large glass of cold orange juice, freshly squeezed if possible.
How many Rings of Kerry are there? I cycled that trip years ago in less time and I'm sure it was only 120 miles or so. Did it without a clutch too
Morning all from a sunny West West London....had a very unhappy Little Miss W_Y on the phone. It seems that due to "metal theft" all trains from our local stations are cancelled and she had to get a bus service into bandit central, then the plan was to take the train to snalbans and then change and take the train to West Hampstead and then the overground to Stratford. Now stuck in snalbans as no trains are stopping at West Hampstead and she will have to go into St P and get the tube....mayhem... On the brightside our holiday tickets have arrived! H seems to be having fun in Ireland though...
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! 'Ive been on this forum a year now, how time flies.
In one year Ive managed to get up to 722 in the rnakings, which sn't bad considering there are 20,023 people on this forum.
"It's looking increasingly likely that tomorrow's opening ceremony will not sell out. There are still tickets on sale for the top two price categories - £1600 and £2012. "London 2012 say that a decision will be taken tomorrow on what to do with any remaining tickets, but promise that there will not be empty seats. "It's likely that they will be given to troops or children." At those prices I am not surprised when I can see it for nothing. (Storms permitting)
Certain groups will nick anything these days OFH - manhole covers, the name plaques from war memorials, HV electric cables..you name it, they will nick it.
wear-yellow--do not take the tube from St Pancras to Stratford--take the SE service fast train --train every 10 minutes, takes 6 minutes. Quicker, less crowded, more comfortable.
Alex Kacaniklic - true gentleman http://www.london24.com/sport/fulha..._to_watford_after_signing_new_deal_1_1460689?
Rog - Thanks, I will tell Little Miss W_Y that tip. She normally takes the overground from West Hampstead but that is over 30 mins so looks a better option. She is now at Lords for the next week or so as the Archery starts tomorrow. Cheers mate... Team GB are winning then...
Evening all from rainy and wet Ireland! It seems that tomorrow we may see a glimmer of sunshine...i can only hope! We finally have our car back...i saw the clutch and the flywheel...completely knackered...what Mr H has been doing to that poor car, god only knows! i'm going to have to watch him drive in future, and correct his clutch work! lol he's going to love it! 256km to be precise...and that's not including the hour and half to the start from Cork..and the hour and a half back lol. (the non alcoholic kind!) congrats Lloydinio! It seems, rumour has it, that Bassini didn't make payments so the FA have put an embargo on us for now...but the rumour is also going round that the FA have not yet approved the takeover, which is why there are not transfers!! WTF!
The ring of Kerry is beautiful, the fishing around there and up on the Shannon is better though Who is 'one size'? I've obviously missed something here.
