Come on dick- things you posted on here and in private message have yet to come to fruition. We were told of all these facts, but they have yet to be founded (green was due to leave a month ago, right?).

I'm going to wait to hear what slater says. With prothero(sp) coming in, it's very possible he made clear kav wasn't needed?

The Wilson rumour- I doubt they wouldn't be paying one player and signing others to longer, better paid contracts.

Also no one denied what was said on CL about SK leaving, so I have no idea what you are on about there.

...why are certain posters gloating about this story, as if "look we are ****ed and we were right and your all idiots"

Can we all not just post about the "story" posted and discuss in a dignified manor, with the odd bit of banter thrown in?

If (and that's only an if until i see slaters statement) the club is going to pot we should all be able to post without things getting personal, after all we all SUPPORT the same team <ok>

Insults are going to get us nowhere people, we're all human beings here, lets at least treat each other as such.

The recent insults from CL posters with a 'know it all' attitude coming on here to insult us all is completely unwarranted and I can't for one believe they are proper Charlton fans.

I'm finding it more and more difficult to come on here on a regular basis, if it's not Ackworth it's CL'ers making posts which frankly are little more than lies, in particular posts made from a month or so ago telling us all how we are heading into administration. Those posters are lucky not to have had legal action taken against them all the s*** they made up. I feel sorry for AHLL and Super as they are being pushed into an impossible position as our mods.

I'm not interested in a forum war and advise our members against referencing CL or any other site.

We are all up for banter, but this monthly occurrence has fast become ridiculous.

If you don't like what not606 has to say, then you're welcome to put your points across in a constructive way. Same for our members- it's easy to tar CL members with the same brush- but anyone we might disagree with is only a percentage of their members and shouldn't be reflected on the site as a whole.

So going back to Kav- why does news mean we are doomed again?

Surely it's not unusual after a club being bought that a few changes are made. You do things slowly, too much too quickly can have a negative effect.

Have just arrived back in lala land after my travels oop north this week to discover that Steve Kavanagh has stepped down from his directorship. I have also seen a lot of people putting two and two together to make any number they want it to be ina manner that creative accountants can only dream about.

Fact: the chief executive has stepped down but not yet left the club.
Rumour: a payment that may or not be due to Lawrie Wilson has not yet been made

The quantum leap of faith that goes to "we are f***ed" is unbelievable.

We will have a statement from Slate tomorow. If he gives me cause for concern I will be worried but until then I will trust him to look after his investement.

What I don't get about the Charlton Life post is that they kept asking for it to be members only? What is that? Does that mean there is a super membership within the standard membership? A supercardigan membership with four dufflecoat style buttons and a navy emblem on the sleeve. How conceited and arrogant. As if no one else is allowed to contribute.....tell me it's not so.

Please keep a level head about all this. I know nothing about the club, or directors, but I know that exactly 12 months ago......and now this rumour. It's as if they want the club to fail.

Has anyone read the book the lord of the flies? God I don't want to be piggy.

    "B*llocks to the rules!"

Fine book, typical - destroyed for me at the time by having to dissect it for A-level...re-read it thirty years later and loved it.

Check out also the Japanese film Battle Royale, which gives more than a passing nod to Golding.

Battle royale is so cool saw it last week and then battle royale 2! What I like about the japanese movies industry is that it has no rules. Always has a kid wearing cool clothing but is seriously disturbed and edgy. It has schoolgirls without the pervy connnations and violence is done comically brutal.

You can see why Tarantino is influenced by that industry.

It means that they believe that by taking it to members only (only logged in people), it will not appear on any other board or be picked up by the media, so they're protecting the club... or something.

This despite the fact that there are a few journalists on the board, the story has been posted on the club website, and stories like this will always travel across the rumour mills.

They were paying his PA £13.5 million pounds a year ???

No wonder the club was going under.

Yes, Kill Bill being a perfect example of that - pretty much the only Tarantino movie I like.

It gets interesting too when a Japanese setting influences or simply takes over a US made movie - Tokyo Drift and Black Rain, for instance.

Sorry Charltonnutnut, but this thing about Clarke, we can't afford to sell him, get some money & then pay half the wage you say we are paying at the moment. Please explain that one to me. Strikes me if we pay half what we pay now & get some cash upfront. its better than what you say we are doing now. I think its not the club thats f*** but your maths.
