Hammond and Chaplow aren't good enough and I can see at least 1 of them being sold. Leaving Cork, Morgan, Davis & JWP (breaking through) considering it's looking like we'll play a 4-3-3 quite often this season we need 4 top quality CM's.
Lallana's been used as a central midfielder in pre-season so far, and to be honest I can't see Hammond or Chaplow being sold this summer.
I agree, although I'm not sure that Hammond or Chaplow are top 10 premier league club standard, it doesn't mean that they won't do a job for us this season. They are also both an important part of the morale in the team so I can't see them leaving this season. That's not to say that will be the case next summer but I think that depends on where we finish and none of us have any idea about that! I certainly can't decide whether we are going to surprise a few clubs (we are certainly being written off in the press) or whether we will struggle. I think that depends now on how much we strengthen the defense, 1 or 2 strong established CBs and a RM costing us around £10M would be my guess. We may not spend as much now but don't forget Cortese has said that we won't get relegated while he is in charge so if we were struggling in January we could see more money spent there.
BTW, RLGB, I wasn't having a go at you with the facepalm pics. I just find them hilarious and it was good excuse to put them up. What is the issue anyway..?
They tell me we have fingers in several pies.......but I cannot seeing us signing more than one more player or at the outside two I really can't!!
A few people on here seem to think I make a habit of using them and continuously take the p*** despite the fact I haven't used that 'facepalm' for weeks... A tad pathetic and over-exaggerated now. Those people know who they are.
Why not? We know we're definitely looking at wingers and CBs, I'd be very surprised if we didn't sign at least two more players.
