Ditto to that <ok> - plus, I'd go a step further and fine the 'receiving' club. You can't tell me that they would be entering into a loan agreement for a banned player without receiving some sort of financial incentive for doing so.

"POMPEY will be liquidated on August 10 unless a compromise can be reached with the club’s high earners.

The News has learned Mr Birch met with Pompey staff this afternoon to inform them of the date.

Administrators have been working to come up with a compromise with players over a wage bill of around £9.5m."

How do they still have a wage bill so high?

Who gave the likes of Kanu such contracts after going into administration?

Apparently Tal Ben Haim is on £36k a week, plus £1m a year image rights <yikes> Seriously, what sort of PR could he possibly do to be worth £1m?? He has said he is willing to discuss his wage, but wants the administrators to forgo their £650k fee!

They only have about 8 professional players left! Once they get rid of them, they should be fine, but it is proving to be a bit of a struggle to get them off their books...

As for Rangers... I keep thinking that if Pompey do get liquidated, that Rangers might see if they can 'buy' their spot in the league. With the way the SPLare playing silly buggers with TV rights etc, it wouldn;t surprise me if they at least investigate the idea!

Greedy git! So, he wants others to work for nothing whilst they try to save his £2.87M annual salary, which he gets for doing not very much at all.. And half of that salary - the image rights -is probably paid in a manner that avoids tax. <grr>

May be all they get too - Brechin just warmed up for the game by beating Inverness Caley Thistle.

Yes - even if all those involved in bringing him here, coaching and developing him are no longer here themselves. :(

    From the Daily Mirror

"Blackburn are offering West Brom striker Simon Cox a stunning £30,000-a-week deal to drop into the Championship"

It just beggars belief really. Where will it all end? :(

I'm confident that Steve Kean will win the Premier League with Blackburn in four years' time.

Did I say Premier League? Sorry, I meant the Blue Square Conference.

Yes - and the £30K per week would probably cover the whole team's wages!

What happens if Pompy do get liquidated? Who will replace them? Will they promote one team up from the division below them meaning the scum will be promoted from the conference?!

If Portsmouth do go under I am 100% certain that the Football League would run with 71 clubs for this season.

Looking further ahead, it would be farcical if five teams won promotion from League Two. So I reckon they would sort out the gap for the start of 2013/14 by reducing the number of relegation places by one. I.e. three teams relegated from League One with four going up from League Two, one relegated from League Two with two coming up from the Conference.

Preferrably, they could give Hereford a reprieve - but who knows, the FA are a law unto themselves.
